Visit small towns Doha, Ahmedi. Arrange to visit a diwaniya and if you can, visit the Grand Mosque and attend some cooking classes, or lectures on Islam. Accept a cup of tea from the vendor if they offer, sit down, and chat with them. If you are a woman, go to a coffee house and smoke a 'pipe''Nargile'. We went to a one near the town center. They have special ones with apple flavor for women!! Dress conservatively. You will be appreciated more, and will see that people will open up to you. This is a different culture, and you can learn it much better if you have an understanding heart.

Kuwait City

Kuwait City is probably the first place that comes to mind when you mention Kuwait. Although I have spent limited time in Kuwait, I have yet to explore Kuwait City as much as I would like to.

Visit the National Museum

by chizz

See some old handicrafts from Kuwait's past and a dhow outside. There is a small planetarium showing shorts films. Free but ID is needed.

For fun in the water, visit the water parks.

Visit the Souq area

by chizz

There are several parts to the souq selling gold, perfumes, textiles, food and clothing. Nice to go at night.

Visit Al Qurain Museum

by chizz

This is a bombed house from the invasion where many martyrs died. See the destruction and bullet ridden walls, small museum and tank in the garden!

Kuwait Zoo

by chizz

To see the animals. Low entrance fee.

Visit the observation deck of the Kuwait Towers.

by chizz

Best done just before dusk to get both day and night views of the city, especially if you are taking photos. Very cheap to go up.

Kuwait University

by Lebanese

Although the country is fairly new. Kuwait university has managed to become one of the best educational institutions in the country.
