After you have seen Beirut, take a trip north to Byblos, Jounieh as well as the mountains, Bekaa valley etc. Lebanon has something to offer almost all tastes. You can swim in the mediterranean sea and then drive a few kilometers to go skiing, taste nice food, meet friendly people.

I've been in Lebanon 4 years ago. It was a very pleseant journey, but Beirut-traffic was a nightmare! Now I know that the situation is better. However, e-mail me if you want up-to-date informations about accomodation, eating, sights, tips, and everything else about this country. I'll get them for you by my friends who still live there! The port of Byblos...don't miss it at sunset...

In Lebanon you should really enjoy the outdoors. Lebanon is a beautifull country with all sorts of climates and welcoming people. Here you can go to the beach, skiing or play in the casino without having to drive more than one hour. I miss the blue waters of the Mediterranean See, and the afternoons drinking coffee in the stoned walkways of Beirut.

First you have to schedule your trip between late February and early March. During this period of the year, you can enjoy both SKIING and BEACH time! Oh yeah! As a matter of fact a 30-min car drive seperates you from the mountain and the sea shore...So you wouldn't miss that opportunity to be at a 1600 altitude and then in 30 min get down to the sea level... Well... if you look to my pic, you can see behind my back the mountains!! So, during Feb/March usually it is WHITE...what we call SNOW :-) We had this time in the middle of the sea... may be not so clean enough ;-) (Mediterranean Sea!!) but you can still enjoy a happy time with your friends..or even your GIRLFRIEND...yeah and in the middle of NO WHERE!! ORGASMICALLY COOL!!

A trip walking around Beirut. It's an impressive place. A shame it has been devastated by war. It has a very good Hard Rock Cafe, situated along the seafront. Try to go to the mountains as well, it has beautiful, breathtaking views. And last but not least, the Cedars, where you will find the biggest and oldest cedar. Drives through La Bekaa Valey. I miss the friendly people and the good food.

visit the Cedars. This is a pic of one of the many Cedar forests we have in Lebanon. This one is the most visited as it's the most accessible. It's situated in the North of Lebanon, in an area conveniently called The Cedars.

never leave it. Stay. Buy a house! Dig a cave! Whatever! There are so many. * The incredible beauty of the women. * The hospitability of the people* The awesome ruins of ancient history seen just as the sun sets beyond the Jupiter temple in Baalbek* Drinking tea with people I dont know and without sharing any common language

go up north-east. It's where the Joubran Khalil Joubran Museam is, in his home town Bcharé. It is a beautiful but simple place that shows most of the philosopher's art work. It is very serene and enchanting with the most amazing sun sets u can imagine. In the town just after Bcharé are some of the most beautiful churches you can find, most of them are about 1500 years old and are located in the valley of Konnoubine. People can also look up to the caves that fill the mountains all around and catch a glimpse of the hermits that still live up there. The adventurous ones can climb up and talk to the hermits who, if not interrupted while praying, can be very friendly. what I miss most I guess, is something very difficult to explain: it's a memory of a sensation more than a place. Summers can be pretty hot in Lebanon, but with the approach of automn, the earth starts to 'sing' (kind of like...

I would recomend a trip from the mountains in the south, bordering Syria and Israel, down to the mediterreniansea, and north to Beirut. Its an amazing area with an important history. Here you can see tracks of the war thats been destroying this country since 1968, but also you can see ruins and roads from the Roman empire. The constant feeling of: 'whats going to happen next'. Its still a country in war.
