Lebanon is blessed with a diversity of religions, which makes it a unique place. My tip which applies to most countries is ' Avoid discussing politics & religion'. I always thought that religion is between you & whom you worship and not between you & others. As for politics, I guess no one is right or we'd be living in a more peaceful world.

CULTURAL EVENTS :Beit el Din and Baalbek festival in summer.Al Bustan Festival in winter.Monot theater, next to saint Joseph University, Beirut.A lot of lebanese and Arab singers all over: interesting to attend at least once; A BELLY DANCER IS A PLUS!!PEOPLE: Lebanese people enjoy the company of foreigners, and can be very helpful and friendly. Language is not a problem, you will find that most of the people can have 'small talk' in English or French DIVERSITY: the diversity of the Lebanese people is an enriching experience for those visting. Try to meet with as many people as possible with different backgrounds, Religion, and origin.Picture: Baalabek

Since ancient times Lebanon has been a center of culture and civilization. The first civilization was the Phoenician, then the Greeks, the Romans, the Arabs, the Crusaders, the Turks and many others. There are wonderful castles, churches, ruins and cities that serve as testimonies of the rich history of this small but beautiful nation. On the left you cansee the ruins of Anjar. If someone takes his/her hand to her chest as a greeting don't force a handshake or kiss. Religious men and women do not greet the other gender by handshake. They simply touch their chest.Picture: the oldest cedar in Lebanon.

This is an obvious one, but i know there are people out there that neglect to do this... it's just as important to say goodbye as it is to greet someone when you meet them.
When having an argileh in downtown or another restaurant, slip the guy doing the charcoal a few pounds he'll change your charcoal every few minutes.
