W.O.K by sarrahh Every Monday Jazz Band and every wednesday Karaoke night October 31 Halloween Party with open bar and flaring show. Sometimes, third times a charm, and in the case of Phoenicia’s Wok Wok restaurant this definitely turned out to be true. Previously, the space it now inhabits was first an Indonesian restaurant then secondly, a conference hall and now third time lucky: Wok Wok. The space is beautiful, with subtle murals on the wall, depicting oriental landscapes and figures. The restaurant area is adjoined by the spacious and simple lounge area as well as the bar area which takes on a more casual and laid back atmosphere. The bar is modeled on the Indonesian concept of the Longs Bar, which allows its customers to drink comfortably while throwing whatever litter, like peanut shells, on the floor. This may seem a little weird at first, but in Indonesia, the fines for littering are so high that this has become a national luxury! The menu at Wok Wok is full and fresh, leaving you with the hardest task – deciding what you want! There’s a wide array of soups, salads and appetizers, ranging from Tomyam Gung to Mango chicken salad, to mouth watering spring rolls and sesame shrimp toast and that’s just the first part of your meal. When it comes to the main course, you’ve really got your work cut out making your mind up. The crispy duck is highly recommended as is the fresh sushi, BBQ dishes and seafood dishes. Wok Wok welcomes everyone and anyone at anytime of day, but be warned, this place is popular, and a reservation won’t get you anywhere, because it works on a first come first serve basis. So, don’t waste time getting there, take your time being there, and enjoy your experience. Leave a Comment Theme: NightclubAddress: Phoenicia HotelOther Contact: 01.369100

RAI by sarrahh Since re-opening this summer, Rai hasn’t stopped bustling. It features a stylish new décor in warm earthy colors to keep your feet on the ground – except, that is, when you are dancing on the bar to the music of the resident DJ. Josiane, one of Lebanon’s top female DJs, will make sure you dance till dawn with her special mix of Latin, House, R&B as well as oriental beats. Soak up the atmosphere while lounging on one of the comfortable couches; you are made to feel at home as soon as you enter in the friendly environment. Dare to taste the special shots and cocktails: the Cosmo is one of the best in town. Try the “Rai Special,” a unique concoction of vodka, manzana and apple juice: it will surely blow your mind! The menu at Rai is varied with an international flavor to appease your appetite. Featuring salads and appetizers as well as delicious main courses you will surely not leave hungry. Brides-to-be should see what’s on offer at Raj when booking their bachelorette bash: out of the ordinary cheeky entertainment will come their way, and that’s all we can say! See for yourself but don’t say you we didn’t warn you! On Monot there is only one place to go; check out the new look of Rai and be part of Beirut’s in-crowd! ZINC(pub-restaurant)Beirut-Lebanon by nadina An ocher villa with a garden, terrace and dim-lit interiors… Definitely one of the best pub-restaurants in town. Its walls are constantly clad in artwork. Every month, the Zinc is host to the works of a different artist. The music here is great! It is on a daily basis that Lounge music, Acid Jazz, Blues and Hip Hop lend themselves perfectly to the artsy and unique atmosphere of the place. The food is beautifully presented, and we recommend you start with the “Spring Rolls” and “Beignets de Crevettes” - they’re delicious! This place is great… It’s different”! RAI(nightclub).Beirut-Lebanon by nadina Situated in Mono Street, Achrafieh, Beirut's most popular entertainment centre, Rai is a traditional Moroccan saloon and is one of a number of new sound reinforcement installations recently completed by Turbosound's Lebanese distributor, Delta Vision. The Moroccan theme in RAI is evident in every aspect of the decor, from the traditional low seating adorned with colourful cushions to the alcoves designed like desert castles. Tea is served by beautiful North African girls at large low tables crafted from a special alloy of tin. Known for its live vocal performances, this pub is the perfect setting to kick back, relax and listen to some great jazz ballads. The dimly lit interior along with the wooden style décor give Bar Louie the casual laid back feel that go hand in hand with the talented vocal acts and great drinks…Last time I was there Ziad Sahhab (Oud) and his band 'Chahadin ya baladna', a group of young talented musicians were playing there ..great music :)
As always...Dress to impress ;-) Leave a Comment

buddha bar by TomorrowsAngel The Buddha Bar chain has a spectular representation in Beirut. The three-storey building's centrepiece is a 2-storey high gold buddha. The bottom floor is for dining, 1st floor is a lounge bar type setting for drinking and snacks. Top floor is dancing, and the only toilets (weird).
Dress up, reserve at least a week ahead if you wanna eat. Leave a Comment Theme: NightclubAddress: Downtown, Assaily BldgPhone: 01-993199; 01-993299

If chilling is your thing, Time Out ranks as one of the most comfortable hang-outs in Lebanon. This old lebanese house, located on one of Achrafieh's quiet streets has a warm ambiance...choose to lounge in one of the three separate areas of this high-ceiling Lebanese architecture house, listen to world music, and have a deep conversation with your friends :-)
As a general rule in Beirut...try and look good ;-) Leave a Comment Theme: OtherAddress: Tabet Bldg , Tabaris Street, Achrafieh, BeirutPhone: +9611331938/+9611323084Directions: The house (to the left) of the street that leads to Jesuit University in Achrafieh. Open - 8pm - 1.30 am

This daytime view, is SOOO different at night! by miso80 If you want to spend your night in a great location in Beirut, where you can spend your night in one great pub or simply crawling from one pub to the next, listening to various styles of music, perhaps dancing a bit, tasting different drinks, or simply hanging around on the street watching people having a great time...then gemmayzeh is a must. The old neighbourhood of Gemmayzeh had long been an abandoned area after the Lebanese war..even banks had given up on placing ATM machines on that street, cause not too many people seemed to pass through any way..However, times have changed, and today crowds begin flocking to this area after 9.00 pm to have a great time! This street contains little shops that have been turned into bistros and pubs, with different styles and themes. Note that, the main street of gemmayzeh is also referred to as Gourad Street.
Dress as you please..but in general, the Lebanese dress up to go on a night out ;-) Leave a Comment Theme: OtherAddress: Gourad StreetDirections: Lies between Mar Maroun and the Ottoman mansions of Sursock Quarter to the south and Beirut Port to the north. Gemmayzeh is recognized as the neighborhood on the eastern edge of Solidere's downtown reconstruction project.

Long before Gemmayzeh...Monot street was the place to be at night! It still is one of the most vibrant areas in Beirut ..with people going there to have a nice dinner at one of its many restaurants, or youngsters planning to out drinking, dancing, people watching or just having loads of fun. This street is so packed with Mercedes, and BMW's and fancy cars, that its easier to go there walking on the cobble-stoned streets. The streets of Monot are so filled up with different pubs and clubs, and the competition is quite heavy. You hear about places opening up and closing again within months of opening because they couldn't keep up with the competition. In conclusion, get dressed up, wear your party shoes and go out to monot and have a great night :)
Ok..everyone who's not lebanese that I've met has talked about how much effort lebanese people place on how they look..so I'd say get dressed to impress when going out. by miso80 This elegant french restaurant is sheltered in an building that was first built in 1920, and then rebuilt in 2001 to serve as a sample of the rehabilitation of Beirut. Walking into this restaurant you cannot but be impressed by the unique architecture of this place...the music and great food then carry you into a different place and time...you seem to forget all that lies outside the walls of this place. After finishing your dinner...let the stylish elevator carry you up to the trendy bar with its curvatous retractable ceiling that opens up to show you a view of Beirut in the summer... its a wonderful place to visit!
