 | Beirut Nightlife | Tips 11 - 20 of 77 | | Popular Nightlife | Other Nightlife Tips | All Tips (77) After the civil war ended, the down town Beirut was wrecked, almost completely distroyed, but few years ago a very large construction company(Solidaire) renovated the whole down town,it was a great job they did...... Now many cafes, restuarants and shops have re-opened. To me,it is a very pleasent chance to sit at one of the out door cafes and socialize with the locals, who are so friendly and very hospitable. Most restaurants and cafes stay open til after midnight.
Try to be nicly dressed(Don`t get frustrated if you didn`t get a friendly welcome at the restaurants if you`re wearing rags!!). Lebanese people are very known to be highly stylish and updated with the latest trends.(try to go with the flow;-) Leave a Comment Theme: People WatchingAddress: Down town Beirut.

This hangout is the place to hear first-run Arab songs and remixes. The decor is oriental and the DJ plays all kind of music. Doors open at 10:30 pm and the music plays until the early hours. Open six days a week through summer.
Just be dressy! as usual in Lebanon ;-) Leave a Comment Theme: NightclubAddress: Ashrafieh, Monot Street.Phone: +961-1-331177

Centrale is an amazing bar/lounge. An old war damaged building was reinforced with steel and metal and converted into a trendy bar/restaurant. The upstairs, accessible only by lift, is a very long tube whose roof opens up for amazing views of Beirut at night. Food is served downstairs. Excellent music and a trendy crowd. Go there for a drink or two!

Rue Monot is a narrow one-way street down a slope in Achrafieh that has become the focal point of Beiruti nightlife. A large cluster of trendy bars and clubs are located side by side at the bottom half of the street towards downtown Beirut. A goodlooking fashionable young crowd gathers inside and outside the bars and a slow stream of cars runs through the street until the early hours on a typical Friday or Saturday night. Some well-known bars/lounges are Crystale and Shah, among many others.

As Beirut is coming out of the war, Beirut's inhabitants are coming out of their homes - and they are heading for the al-Aswaq area - or else downtown. This area was the first one to be renovated - and it's now lined wit expensive boutiques, bars, pubs, restaurants, clubs. Everyone seem to meet there at night to enjoy a chat, a dinner, a few drinks, a nargileh. It's buzzing!
Lebanese people dress up smartly when they go out, so try to do the same. And don't worry about dress codes: miniskirts are quite popular in this area. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherAddress: Beirut downtownDirections: anywhere around place de l'etoile, in the pedestrian area

The Music Hall is a place you'd want to go to if you'd like to enjoy a fabulous clubbing experience and and the musical stylings of various singing talents from around the world! This venue is also known as the 'Cabaret du Monde', and its no surprise!!! Since this huge hall has a slanted floor since it was an old theatre...however, instead of your usual theatre seats, you have dinner tables set up so that everyone has a clear view of the stage..and everyone in the hall gets a view of the other tables around!! Excellent setting! Moreover, the velvet royal red curtains wrap the stage, only to open up and display a series of artists all in their own special style and alluring theme and beat. Everyone will definitely find something to their liking!! Whether it is the broadway songs that you've been longing to hear or the arabic latino music mix that's just been made up by some ingenious artist...you will get a chance to hear it! Go there to enjoy the music or to drink and dance the night away. It is situated in the Starco Center, near the downtown district. You can also check online: www.ticketingboxoffice.com to find out more about the artists and singers they'll be hosting on a particular date. This is one of the best night spots in Beirut...and definitely one place I'd go to if I'm in Beirut for a night :)

I wasn't sure whether I should place this tip in the nightlife section or the restaurant section..but seeing that I did visit it at night, here I go... If you want to go some place other than the known downtown district or the monot area at night, in Beirut...or if your hotel's in Hamra, and you want to hang around that area...an ideal place to go to is 'De Prague'. This place is the favorite hangout for many university students and residents of the Hamra area..it has dim lighting, a warm ambiance, plays GREAT music, comfy coaches and might I add frienly staff. You can go in and sit at the bar, or sit on one of the comfy coaches...or if its tooo busy stand up and dance about! Yes, this place gets so crowded, that they have these high tables on the outside of the pub, where people take their drinks and chit-chat. The food is also really good..if you want to have a nice club sandwich, a good salad or some appetizers. They even have a falafel dish which has a beautiful presentation :) We spent a wonderful evening there..and I'd recommend it if you feel like chilling out and having a good time. I also noticed that this place offers breakfast that sounds tempting and tasty :) I'll let you know how its like when I try it out ;)

One of the most original nightclubs I have ever been to. A cinema (from the '60s) was converted into a concert hall/nightclub. Comfortable loungy booths replaced the old theatre seats in the middle of the hall, while dinner tables occupy the bottom area facing the stage. Up top is a long bar for those looking to stand and dance. A very elegant crowd (of course) determined to have a fantastic time usually attends. Bands play live music on stage, an eclectic mix of "east meets west." Amazing atmosphere where dancing on tables is de rigueur after a certain hour -- lots of fun!
Trendy party attire. Go late... 11pm or later. Theme: NightclubDirections: It is the downtown/Alhamra area. Ask your hotel for directions. A taxi/car is necessary. The doorman/bouncer can call you a taxi on your way out.
