Hammoud

Borj Hammoud is an area in east Beirut, just east of Beirut River. There are a lot of clothes shops (not too expensive) around Arax Street and Armenia Street. There are also many shops selling gold. As many people living in Borj Hammoud are of Armenian origin you will see some shops with signs in Armenian.

Music I bought

At this huge store you find different things on different floors. In the basement you find the cameras, computers etc. On the fist floor you have books, magazines, maps and video films and most are in English. On the second floor you have the music department with a lot of CDs by Lebanese artists and from other countries. Around the walls there are many headphones and you can listen to any CD you want. The store is opened until midnight.

Not many shops but there are some antique shops that sell nice items,but have in mind that this downtown is a very newly renovated,and the rent prices of the shops are very high,so items can be a little expencive.

There is a really nice women`s clothes shop called SamÍa,a bit expensive but all the Lebanese and Arab female celebraties get their clothes from it ;-) My sister in law bought a pair of jeans for 200+USD$

There are many shops in Mar-Elias street which provide items that is made in Lebanon,which makes it a bit cheaper than other places. If you can,visit Lebanon in the shopping festival month(February).

Women`s clothes,Kids wear,Leather items.

Cheaper than Verdun street,yet you can go crazy!!!

These two shopping malls stand face to face on Verdun Street. This area has long been known to have high-end stores and is an area for massive shopping and beauty care (hair, nails, etc.). The malls were named according to their corresponding cadastral number..in any case, you will find many stores here, from: Bershka to Swatch, mothercare to adidas, The Body Shop to Tiffany's, etc.. Also, very close to this area are stores like Mango, Kookai, etc.. There are also coffeeshops and restaurants like: Starbucks and Le Pain Quotidien, ...

Whatever your heart desires...I usually go to: - Pull and Bear - Bershka - Massimo Dutti - Accessorize - Adidas - The Body Shop - Mango (which is very nearby) - Le Pain Quotidien
