Many good restaurants -- in Beirut I have forgotten the name of a wonderful Italian restaurant along the east side of the old Green-line (now highway) in a redone yellowish villa with a wonderful bathroom. in Kisraoune, the Armenian restaurant right on the hill-edge in Ba'lbak - lunch at the Palmyra hotel
too many good items - the vegetables are all high quality & fresh - labnah (salted yoghurt cheese) is great, meats are tasty Leave a Comment Theme: Other

by elmasri Mount Alberto in Zahlé. It has a rotative room, with views of the city down below. At the opposite hill there is another good restaurant, I can't remember the name, which has a very big terrace, and the waiters just run from the kitchen down to your table in seconds with trays as big as 1m x 1,5m, unbelievable! The atmosphere, the arabic music, the friendliness of everyone.
Everything on the menu is delicious in Lebanon. Where to start, Fatoush, Tabouleh, Homous, grilled lahme (meat), stuffed courgettes, even the raw meat prepared in a special unknown way is good. Not to mention cupbeh, kebabs, oh! my I'm hungry already... Yet again, you have to look for this restaurant to find it: It's door is amazingly discreet. On most nights, a singer shows up with a simple instrument, the lebanese oûd, and interprets lebanese and arabic songs from the 'golden age': Oum Koulsoum, Abdel El Halim Hafez, Fairouz, Wadî El Safi...
It is a very simple but delightful restaurant, serving some of the most exquisite lebanese dishes. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherDirections: It's in a quiet street in Achrafieh, that has no name. Ask around, You'll eventually find it and be hungry enough to taste the great food.

The greatest sandwiches of whole Beirut :) with meat and chicken. There are 4 Barbar places next to each other. One does fresh fruit juices and icecream. The juices are great! The other does the sandwiches. The third does more bakery like food. And the 4th does ready made meals. Didn't try the last one but the rest was really good. This restaurant located in the citadel of Byblos is lovely, charming, and very intimate, with a wonderful view of the Mediterranean Sea. It is, indeed, a must during your visit to Lebanon. But the soul of the place is his owner, Señor Pepe (familiar for José), who in the sixties, during Lebanon golden age, he was a true play boy. He was born in Mexico, from Mexican mother, and migrated to the country of his father, Lebanon, to open several restaurants for the rich people (although he arrived to Lebanon without a peso in his pocket). Still, his Spanish is excellent. The restaurant displays many pictures hanging from its walls showing world famous personages, such as Brigitte Bardot, Jaques Chirac, Marlon Brando, Frank Sinatra, and Fraga Iribarne, a Spanish Minister in Franco’s times. Food is delicious, although a little bit expensive (he made me discount, being Spanish!), but the place and Pepe presence and conversation compensate for everything.
