    In order to experience the Hajar Mountains safely, you need a 4 wheel drive vehicle and experience driver cum guide, nothing less than this or else you will encounter problems.

    The Hajar Mountains are very dry and rugged. You need a 4 wheel drive vehicle and an experience driver cum guide to be able to negotiate the mountains. Do not attempt to do it on your own without proper equipment and guide.

  • Colours of the mountains

    Although the Hajar Mountains are dry and rugged, they are suprisingly colourful with different shades of yellow, brown, grey anf black due the different mineral disposits of the mountains. This photo is a good example of the colours of the mountains.

  • On top of a mountain with fantastic...

    During my trip to the Western Hajar Mountains, our 4 wheel drive managed to climb to the top of one of the mountains with magnificent views of the surroundings. This place is apparently a famous camping spot of hikers, but it is rather cold since it is more than 2000 metres above sea level.
