  • Old tomb

During the journey along the rugged coastal gravel road to Tiwi, you will come across this structure in the photograph which is actually an old tomb of the local people. 2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

In order to travel to Tiwi and the coastal areas between Muscat and Sur, you need to have a 4 wheel drive as the road is rather rugged. They are now constructing a proper road which should be ready in about 2 years time, but in the meantime only a 4 wheel drive is possible to reach here.

  • Taking my lunch and relaxing at Tiwi...

I had my lunch at the beautiful Tiwi Beach and took some time to relax here before continuing my journey. Besides the beach, the rugged coastline is rather colourful with waves making huge splashes. There are many small crabs living along the cliff and I was lucky to actually spot a turtle swimming in the water. This is a really nice place.
