Jabrin Travel Guide

 victorwkf Says:  Oman is very proud of its forts and there is a flag of Oman in major forts such as Jabrin, Nizwa and Nakhl. 

 victorwkf Says:  Because Jabrin Fort is built on a flat plain, you could have superb views of the sorroundings flat plain and surrounding mountains on the top of the fort. Part of the view is a cemetary with its wall near to the fort (see photograph). 

 victorwkf Says:  Being a fort, there are lots of defensive features such as the high & thick walls, cannons, towers and holes for shooting arrows and guns (as shown in this photograph). You can still see some bullet marks on the walls of the fort. 

 victorwkf Says:  The wooden ceiling of some of the rooms of Jabrin Fort is famous for its beautiful paintings, which are normally not found in other forts in Oman 

 victorwkf Says:  There are many rooms in Jabrin Fort for various daily functions such as sleeping, receiving guests, kitchen, hall, dinning room, prison, gaurd room, store room etc. The fort is also designed in such a way that fresh water could flow through its man-made channels and there is... 

 victorwkf Says:  The courtyard inside Jabrin Fort is very impressive with its beautiful architecture, as shown by this photograph. 

 victorwkf Says:  There are several old cannons on display inside as well as at the entrance of the fort. You will also see some potteries on display. 

 victorwkf Says:  When you approach Jabrin Fort, you will realise that it is located on a large and flat plain surrounded by mountains. This fort was very important strategically as the soldiers could see 360 degrees on top of the fort for approaching enemies. 

 victorwkf Says:  The jail room at Jabrin Fort is interesting with its dangling handcuffs. I managed to have this interesting photograph taken, but mindful that this was once a place where the prisoners had suffered during their imprisonment. 

 victorwkf Says:  The architecture of Jabrin Fort is simply amazing, and it is constantly being restored to enable future generations to visit and marvel at this man-made wonder. 

 victorwkf Says:  I had a nice group photograph taken with my guide (Nabhan) and an old friendly man who is one of the keepers of Jabrin Fort. The old man is very fit as he follows us around the entire fort.
