The Ibadi sect of Islam is follwed by most Omanis. Omanis are also tolerant of other Islamic worship and other religions.Expats can express their own religions at Muscat churches and temples.
There are numerous mosques near Muscat, each one is more beautiful than the next.

Women wear colorful clothing. Usually they wear a dress worn over trousers called sirwal.

Omani men wear a gown called a dishdashi.

Learn a minimum of Arabic. Dress appropriately, so as not to offend. Don't take pictures of people unless they allow you to.Don't blow your nose in public!
