    Automatic Restaurant - Lebanese Food

    by Ewingjr98 Updated Mar 2, 2011

The McDonalds of the Middle East... crappy food, cheap, low quality, poor service.

I had a schwarma here one evening for dinner. It was cheap, just a Rial or two, and it arrived pretty quickly, but it smelled like dog, and it was small, fatty, and oily. The pickled carrots and olives were overpowering and rubbery. I thought it was horrible, but at least it wasn't another 30 Rial meal in the InterContinental Hotel down the street.

Best pizza you can get in Muscat!! Make sure you go when the weather is nice so that you can outside on the beach.

Favorite Dish: I don't eat red meat so I usually get the wheat dough vegetable pizza. The chocolate cake is awesome too.

Gulf Pomegranate Iranian Restaurant: Everybody loves lamb

by RebeccaTravels Updated Jan 25, 2011
    Delicious grilled fare

It's real Iranian food. The best in town. At first glance you think that you are in the wrong place or on your way you think that you are lost. The restaurant's location is not typical of most restaurants in Muscat which are mainly in Qurum or Khuwair. But, once you taste the food, you forget the outside world. During lunch I noticed that the views of the surrounding rugged hills can be peaceful. It's a cozy establishment run by the owner. My sensitive tummy gave this place a thumbs up.

Favorite Dish: Hands down the lamb kebabs get the vote. The Persian rice with the dried berries, pistachios and almonds is really different. The aroma of the saffron on the rice is intoxicating. The hummus is the best I've tasted since I had the Greek version in Toronto. The salad dressing is not the ready-made bottled kind and taste really light. The prices are really reasonable too.

Restaurant la Brasserie: French restaurant in Mutrah

    Restaurant la Brasserie in Mutrah
    2 more images

Restaurant la Brasserie is located in the left side of Mutrah Corniche. This is a cosy area in Muscat, even thought some reviews on the net writes the opposite and make fish smell from the fish souq to a big issue. It isn't! I had no problems with bad stench. And if you should be sensitive for bad stench, visit this restaurant in the week-ends or at nights.

Biella: Authentic Italian cuisine at affordable rates

by tamerinho Written Feb 13, 2010

Great food, excellent quality, and good service.

Authentic Italian dishes, at affordable mid range prices, with one of the best Pizzas in town.

The only con is the surrounding as it is located inside a noisy shopping centre close to the food court, add also the freezing A/C

Apart from the that the quality of food is excellent, and the portions are quite big.

Favorite Dish: Try the pizzas, all of them are thin just like the real Italian pizza.

    Automatic Restaurant: Good Lebanese Food

by tamerinho Written Oct 14, 2008

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Restaurant belongs to a chain, with several locations in Oman and the UAE.

I tried all their branches, and I'm highlighting here their Qurum Area Branch.

Food is good, tasty, and portions are more than enough.

Service is also good, a bit slow, but satisfactory.

Decoration is abit outdated (1970's style) although it is open only since 5 years or so.

A bot more expensive than average Lebanese restaurants.

Favorite Dish: Try the Shish Tawooq (Chicken grilled plate)

Also the Waraq Enab (Stuffed vine leaves)

Wok of Life: The coolest Chinese restaurant in town

by tamerinho Updated Oct 14, 2008

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Wonderful restaurant, and tasty food. Nice decoration, very spacious, they need to lower the A/C power though as it was freezing.

Name is WOK OF LIFE .. bringing back the Dire Straits famous Album/Song to memory.. while still pointing out to the Chinese cooking utensile .. The WOK.

Apart from that the team is very gentle, and professional, mostly all the staff is from Nepal.

Back to food, portions are big, but extremely tasty.

Favorite Dish: Sweet and Sour Chicken, and also Chicken friend rice.
