THE BLUE OMAN GOLF

by GIPA

I was in Dubai and had a free day , so I decided to visit this peninsula , that belongs to the neighboring country , Oman ,as an enclave , controlling the entrance of the Persian golf. My first idea was going to the capital , Khasab , but it was impossible because I had no multiple visa for the UAE. So , I found out other possible option : going to the east coast of UAE , then cross the border to the Oman citty of Dibba where there was a port , with dhows to Oman golf. Dibba was like a ghost city : I couldnt see anyone in the streets , just photos of the Oman´s sultan , a personality cult , indeed. The cruise was absolutely divine , with lunch on board , fishing , ,stunning views of the rocky coast of Oman (a ghost area too! No sign of humans...), a stop for swimming... perfect. Even rain we had , a rarity at that desertic area.I did it with this company named KHASAB TOURS that took me...

Beaches...Fishing..mountainerin(at ur own risk...)

by RocknRolla

The best part about beaches here are that they are not crowded...They are clean and beautifull...I will give full marks to Oman govt for maintaining these beaches...Beaches here are ideal for camping..facilities are good...but check before camping as not all places might be safe...Apart from beaches Musandam also has huge nd amazing mountains...they are a treat to eyes...we just parked our car near a big mountain and hung around for sometime...Apart from this there aint much to do...Also check vth ur hotel if they can arrange for a Dhow ride to see Dolphins...that was fun...

Khasab cruise with Khasab Travel and Tours

by chizz

The main thing people do when they visit Khasab is to take a cruise through the rugged mountain scenery to see the dolphins and snorkel off Telegraph Island. We arranged a half day cruise through Khasab Travel and Tours in Dubai. The cost of the half day cruise is AED150 per adult (discount for children) and AED250 for the full day cruise with lunch included. The cruises leave around 9.30-10am (although you are told to arrive by 9am) with the half day one returning by 1.30pm and the full day one by 5 - 5.30pm. On the half day cruise, refreshments and fruit is available and snorkel gear can be hired for a small fee (AED20, I believe). The half day cruise takes you through the fjord of Khor Ash Sham and you can see many dolphins as you sail, you pass several mountain villages and can also see cormorant birds too. The cruise then stops at Telegraph Island for around 1 hour and you can snorkel,...

Beautiful mountains and water abound in this very remote place. Few people visit here. I am privileged to have been.

This big lad followed the dhow for miles skillfully diving under the boat then showing off with a huge jump - magic!
