This nice spring is located in Nakhl near to the fort and is a popular picnic and relaxing place for the locals. There is a hot spring from water flowing from the Western Hajar Mountains as well as a small stream which is teeming with fishes. Beautiful date palm trees line the stream and you have a really nice place for relaxation. You can meet a lot of friendly locals here having their picnics, washing their vehicles etc. More photographs are at the travelogue section of this VT page.

There are lots of interesting stuff in Nakhl Fort and it is best that you get an Omani guide to show you around, and explain to you the history and what each of the rooms are. Since the structure of the major forts in Oman are about the same, I will provide more information about the design of the forts in my VT Oman main page, so do keep a lookout for the updates.

Nakhl Fort is one of the most impressive fort in Oman, and it is dramatically situated on a small hill nestled among the rugged Western Hajar Mountains and forest of date trees. Please see my Nakhl Fort travelogue for more photographs of this wonderful work of architecture.

The hot springs of Nakhl are found through the village, welling up into a cistern and flowing down the wadi. Here you can see the villagers washing all manner of things, and small boys sporting in the waters. This area has shaded picnic tables to sit at, and if you are lucky, you may come upon a group of Omani men at their leisure, singing and playing drums.
