The nightlife is rather limited as there is electricity only from 16h30 to 23h. Settlers came and destroyed the generator you can see on the top of the photo btu, thanks to the UN an other one has been constructed (see photo).
It's better not go out of the beaten path... or you must be beaten yourself. Stay away from the top of the hill or settlers who control permanently the area will kindly come to you with their kalachnikov/M16 or dogs...
The security has become a huge problem for the inhabitants of Yanun upper village, especially for the children who go to school to Aqraba, more down. There is one path going down but it happened that sometimes settlers come and block it. Thanks to an association, a car has been financed to drive children all together to school.
In Yanun there are about 16 families, all very kind and warm. They''ll invite you for tea or dinner for sure. The main economical ressources come from the olives and the sheeps.
But since the settlers took part of the land on the top and that some zone are risky to go, inhabitants encounter great financial problems as well as security problems of course, inside their own homes.
The doors of the homes are regularly broken by israelian settlers coming down and beating the families.
Thanks to the international presence of civilian volunteers, the intrusions have become less frequent... but have not desappeared. 26 of January. 2 young international volunteers have been attacked by several armed settlers...
