If you get a chance to get on ATV's during your stay in Qatar it is highly worth it! It was my first time ever doing this sort of sport but it was fantastic. The machines are great in the dunes and damp sand and can handle almost anything. It is quite a different way to travel on the dunes. You could always go in a 4x4 or something too if you woud like.
We did this at the Sealine Beach Resort. They have quite a few bikes and were very helpful even when one of our companions got stuck. You must be 16 and a valid driver's license will be taken during your time for information sake. We paid 150QR each for 1 hour of riding time. Jeep safari: 4 wheel drives you every top and bottom of the sand dunes,
Organizations are made through travel-tourism agencies, it is a dangerous thing to travel just by your own jeep: u can be lost or pass some close border unwillingly, get the car stuck in sand (can easily happen) or an unwanted mechanical problem may occur.
ı have been in an all inclusive tour that contains
jeep with professional driver,
unlimited food and drinks (allright),
private sandy beach with shower and other facilities,
chance to try sandskiing,
motor ride ın the beach and up and down in the dunes by myself.
That was a beautiful day.
Do not forget to use a sunscreening cream...

If you miss the snow like I do and you wanted to act like a child again and sled down small hill sitting on trash cover well this is the place for you. Inside the arcade in Carrefour Mall is an ice slide where for 15 QR you get two turns to go barreling down the slide. We were lucky when we went because there was nobody there except for us we got to do it over 5 times. You can sit down the tube or go down the slide or you can ask the guy to spin you around for more excitement.. They provide helmet for portection but we didn't notice it until we were done and the guy told us to come back and next time he will show us the Canadian way..hmmmmmm..
