Le pecheur is a posh-ish fish restaurant on the corniche: great food but quite expensive. Walimah is owned by two lebenese ladies and you'll get home-cooked traditional meals. it's in Hamra. A splendid restaurant in a splendid building - in traditional Lebanese style, with plenty of tall arches, and a lush garden. There are also unforgettable views of th crusaders' castle - by day at least. Delicious mezzes and seafood. The spinach-filled pastries were heavenly. We also has grilled tiger-praws: fresh and crunchy! Definitely a restaurant to recommend. Lebanese wine is served.
The Middle Eastern cuisine vary from country to another,but in general it`s Kosher(containg no pork),also it has many dishes that are tottaly vegetarian.In Lebanon and Syria it`s famous for it`s stuffed vine leaves,Hummus dip and Shawarma(like Gyros).In Jordan there the (Ma`loobeh)it`s a dish prepared with rice and egg plants.In Palstine it`s famous for (Al Misakhan)it`s chicken rolled in bread with lots of onions.And in Saudi Arabia it`s famous for the national rice dish called(Kabsah)served with mutton meat.The middle eastern cuisine is spicy though not as much as the Indian cuisine,,but Arabs in general tend to add spices to their food as well. If I`m going to start on what`s my favorite dish,,it will take me many pages to tell.I almost love most dishes,but the ones are the best is the ones cooked and prepared by my mother ;-)

I only want to introduce the famous trraditional food in the Middle East!Wherever you can eat a Shawerma!It is a Turkish food it is so delicious but all the Middle Eastern Countries are great masters in doing it.Foul is also very famous,Homos, Fateh, Falafel, Tabooleh, Kobeh.And many other delicious meals you will adore when you will try it.But BBQ is ever a famous meal, which you can always order if you are the kind who does not like to risk.P.S. please do not miss the Oriental dessert, It is Superb!
For any Americans visiting Bahrain, this is a must. Rick is retired military and decided to open up a 'Southern Cookin' restaurant in Bahrain. Sweet Tea is great and they've even got grits. Lumberjack Breakfast. I actually never had it; way too much food for me. It's got just about every breakfast item you could ask for. Bring an appetite.
Jim is from Ireland and is pretty popular in Bahrain. Jim usually greets you as soon as you walk in the door. Beer is serve yourself using the honor system unti you are seated. Linguine and seafood. Excellent.
The owner/manager of the bar is named George. The nicest guy around. If you order a pitcher of margaritas make sure to ask for the VRC-40 margarita. He'll throw in a few extra shots of tequila!!! Quesadillas and Kiwi Margaritas.
We spent the fist of 2 weeks on The Nile Admiral Cruise ship, and the food was excellent.Very good variety and service some of the best I have enjoyed.2nd week spent in the Luxor Sheraton and again a good variety well prepared although service more in keeping with a 4 star Hotel.
Our favorite restaruant was in Izmir called Sine. VERY good and very resonably priced.In Yalikavak our favorite was Gulten Abla's, family run and wonderful food and atmosphere! At Sine's the shish is wonderful and well as the mercimek chorba (lentil soup)! Ask for pilav on the side, yummy!
