Al Khubar Things to Do

Khobar has a number of beautiful and neat beaches for family visits. Corniche is a stretch of re-claimed land and beautifully maintained leasure point for kids and adults. Many eateries are available along Khobar corniche and they are plenty of playing areas in and around. In Khobar, anyones main entertainment will be corniche and shopping malls, as there are limited options available for other entertainments like movie theatres, auditoriums, plays etc....
Many beachs exists in and around Khobar city and my favourite is half-moon beach, near Khobar.

One of the most famous activities in the desert is the quad biking and it should be found anywhere outskirt the city, my kids tried it for the first time they chose the 4 wheel drive it was very thrilling and fun.

One of the most special thing that my kids enjoyed well in our first visit in al-khobar is riding a 10 feet camel with a colorful accesories, it was a great experience! one of my kids dream is to see or touch a camel but glad they enjoyed more than they expected, and funny because even if they were bit scared they did just to enjoy themselves.

One round it cost 20 riyals ( $5 us )

Jet ski is a very popular sea sport activitivy I tried it twice 9 years ago and that was1997, first time in cebu phil and second time in subic bay phil.

In Holiday inn resort Jet ski is one of their activities offering to their guest, the rent it cost 250 riyals in 1 hour.

This tower was built on the middle of King Fhad causeway, on the top it is used as the view deck to overlooks the entire bridge as well as the view of the ocean.

It has also a restaurant where you can have your meal or sips your tea while you enjoy the breath taking view of Persian gulf.

Pedalos a pedal driven watercraft, another famous sea sports activities in the resort, it cost 45 riyals in just 20 minutes expensive but its great and fun. It carries 2 or more people it depends the sizes easy to use and also great for exercise.

It is the one and only, shopping. Yes. There is not much else to do here besides that. Just going to the mall is fun, you dont have to buy anything if you dont want to, obviously. Under Address I have listen the three shopping malls I think are the best around here. Rashid Mall and Mall of Dharan are perhaps two of the biggest malls in Saudi Arabia/the Middle East, and they are great.

-Mall of Dharan-

Mall of Dharan is HUGE, and its only story. Thats probably the only annoying thing about it; its hard to get around from place to place. The way it looks on the inside is just as great on the outside, grandish sort of. Moving on, there is a very wide and awesome selection of stores there ranging from shoes to make up to clothes; Mall of Dharan has the most exclusive stores, you could say. Its also has a mini-amusement/theme park place in it, with rides and an ice-skating rink in it. The food court is the biggest out of all others in Khobar. And then, the next best thing: They managed to squeeze Geant in there too!! Geant is only like one of the biggest supermarkets around. So in Mall of Dharan you get to buy clothes and groceries in one trip. Neat, eh?

-Rashid Mall-

Rashid Mall is three stories high, and is probably as much of a hassle as Dharan Mall to get around. Rashid Mall has more variety in stores. They have more variety in general. Most of the stores in Mall of Dharan are more clothing related, while in Rashid Mall you also have house decoration stores, gift stores, jewelry stores, mobile specializing stores, and lots of little stands and corner stalls. It also has a mini-amusement/theme park place thing, a biiiiig fountain and it has a nice Chinese resturaunt and Fudruckers, if you're not in the mood for the food court.

-Fouad Center-

This place is overshadowed by the other two, but its still nice. Its got a mini-amusement park thing too.

NOTE: You are more likely to run into muttawa at Rashid and Fouad Center than you are at Mall of Dharan.

Dhahran Street is the main road into Al Khobar. It is always busy and when you drive along it, you take your life in your hands, as the driving there is crazy. Some cars are pulling out, others are pulling in, most are cutting across lanes, and all at high speed, without any use of indicators or mirrors.

If you have time to look around, you can see side streets full of shops and restaurants, branching off on both sides, until you reach the end of the road at the Corniche.
