Favorite thing: King Abdulaziz International Airport The gateway of Jeddah City
The airport is at a distance of about 19 kilometers north of Jeddah. Its total surface area is 105 square kilometer. The airport was inaugurated in the year 1401 H - 1981 AD. It has two terminals, one for domestic and one for international flights, the Southern Terminal is exclusively for the Saudia Airlines. The Northern Terminal is for International airlines. The airport has a Hajj terminal with surface are of 1.5 square kilometer located to the north of the international airlines terminal. At the sides of this terminal there are areas for handling ten Boeing 747 simultaneously, located in front of the gates. The airport also has royal terminal. As KAAI airport is considered to be the aerial gateway to Jeddah, that is known as the gateway to the two Holy Mosques. The Hajj terminal was designed in the shape of an Arab tent for serving the pilgrims. It was painted with substance resistant to environmental factors. This unique terminal won the International Agha Khan Award for Innovative Islamic Architecture. The terminal was acclaimed to have belonged to the future owing to its engineering and technical innovations.

King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah is one of these facades and is considered one of the distinguished airports awing to its good services, designs and the services it extends as a first entry point being encountered by new visitors to Jeddah. This airport receives every year over 2.000.000 passengers including pilgrims and visitors. The government of the Kingdom supplied this airport with different facilities and services at the southern and northern terminals.

Favorite thing: Jeddah World Biggesst Tent works as a an air port terminal. When they open the air port for the first time they said it is the largest area of a building ever. First to see when you get out if you come to jeddah by another airline instead of Saudia air line .Design taken from arabian tents construct for pilgrams near mecca to spend few days every year a part of rituals in Islamic Piilgramige called 'Hajj'. the terminal work only when the air port receive pilgrms in the last 3 monthies of the islamic years. Good ventilation system that keeps temp 5 degrees lower than out side.
