    The Name of AL-Falah
    As Haj Mohammad Ali Zeinel was very keen on upgrading the standards of the students of religious and worldly sciences. His aim was to make their start bear a strong Islamic touch. Therefore he selected the name "AL-Falah", which means success, for the first school coming into being in the country

    This school was established in 1320 H (1905 AD) and was the only school in Jeddah. The word "AL-Falah" was adopted from the daily "Athan", (the repeated five times a day call to prayers in Islam) which says, among other things, "Haya Ala Assalah - Haya Ala AL-Falah" ("Come forth to prayers, come forth to success").
