Naranj: Soon to open - Syrian cuisine
This tip is a little premature, but I'm very excited about the future opening of Naranj Restaurant. It is a branch of its namesake restaurant in Old Damascus, the best in the city and one of my most memorable dining experiences in Syria. However, I should temper my expectations because, as often happens in Jeddah where the produce is simply not as good or fresh as in those Mediterranean countries graced with more fertile lands, the dishes never turn out as tasty. Still, given the large sums of money that appear to have been spent on the construction of a replica of a traditional Damascene-style mansion, the owners have no choice but to make this a success. Keep watching.
Aseil أصيل: Authentic Pan-Saudi Arabian Restaurant
It was always difficult for a Jeddah visitor to taste local Hijazi cuisine except in people's homes. Aseil is one of a handful of restaurants that are now changing this (al-Nakheel may have been the pioneer). Aseil serves authentic dishes from all of Arabia, though the focus is from the Hijaz, the Western Arabian region with the richest culinary traditions. This should be on every visitor's itinerary.Related to:

Bab al-Yemen: Excellent Yemeni Cuisine
With such a large Yemeni working class population in Jeddah, there have always been local Yemeni eateries in the poorer parts of the city. Bab al-Yemen is the first proper restaurant to bring a full menu of well-executed Yemeni dishes to the wealthier parts of the city. I was introduced to it by a local friend of Yemeni origin and he knew what to order. The food is exquisite. The restaurant is housed in a purposefully built building inspired by traditional Yemeni architecture.Related to:

Sushi Yoshi: Japanese Sushi at Corniche
after i finished my weekly driving lesson, my brother and sister accidently passed by this little restaurant across the corniche. we didn't even stop to eat in but had our delivery wrapped and packed in a luminous green-orange box of sushi.
the place is very cosy, with a plasma screen featuring a japanese cartoon, and tables and chairs with japanese cartoon characters on their back. all staff were dressed up in the traditional japanese costume - that was very exciting to see, not a common scene in jeddah. they were friendly and helpful and the food was good.
Favorite Dish: we had salmon, hot thai and carrot sushi alongside a special salad. it was a quick delivery but good.
i'm more likely to visit again just to sit on those chairs and eat on those cartoonish tables.Related to:

Zee Noodle: Quiet Atmosphere, Affordable, Delicious
i've been to this place only once and i liked it so much. i've consulted some friends before going there and i had different opinions, but i liked it.
the place and decoration is dim lit, classic and very good for dates
food has got a wide variety of oriental menu; chinese, korean, japanese, hong kong.
timing: throughout the week, Sat-Fri, open until 12 midnight.
customer service: amazing, and quick, they even handed us a suggestion sheet!
the only thing i didn't like that it was getting busier as it got later. other than that, it was perfect:)
Favorite Dish: i had a hong kong dish, which is vegetables and noodles with seafood. you can choose either chicken, beef or seafood to go with it.
and as appetizers i had crab sushi and calamari sushi...which was amazingly presented!
for drinks, i had tripple berry which was a mixture of red and blue berry and strawberry with cream. that was goooood, tho not fresh.
we were two persons with a bill of SR110.Related to:

RUBY TUESDAY: Finally...something new in jeddah!!!!
Ruby Tuesday just opened on Al-Andalus street in Al-Hamraa' district, it is so refreshing to have a new choice besides Applebees, Chilis and Fridays! The first thing that you notice is the salad bar...it is HUGE!!!! It's definetely the biggest, freshest, and best tasting salad bar in jeddah. The service was great, but the food is uncomparable. The quality of the meat is so awesome. I had a platter with ribs, steak, and chicken...I have never had ribs that good! You also have to try the mini cheeseburgers, they are the best and perfect to share. Please check it out the building is beautiful you can't miss it, its the biggest restaurant on the street.
Favorite Dish: The quality of the steaks and burgers is undeniable, i recommend any meat dish on the menu...especially the surf and turf. its a juicy steak with shrimp and sauce on top.Related to:
