    There's not much that I can find with respect to Bab Madina - the Gate of Madina - apart from the fact that it was, historically, the gate that led out from Jeddah's city walls in the direction of the holy city of Madina. This particular monument was in slightly worse repair than the Makkah Gate, which is in the Balad Souq, but it is evident that the Saudi authorities are looking to improve its upkeep. It has the sort of architectural features that one would expect from Ottoman fortifications, and thus looks slightly out of place when compared to the traditional houses near by.
