Diving and Snorkeling, Jiddah
Here is a picture of my friend diving in the red sea.She rented a boat along with some friends and sailed to the open sea.
and you thought ladies in Saudi Arabia are not allowed to do many things? ;-)
The Red Sea has so much to offer for divers and water enthusiasts, rich marine life, big waves, deep diving waters. Catch a big fish, tease the sharks (if you're into it), explore fascinating, unspoilt diving spots and shipwrecks.
You can also rent boats, yatchs and water scooters. Most popular area would be the North Obhur. Skimpy swinsuits are seldom but allowed on private beaches.
Found this website that may be of interest for divers, diving enthusiasts or learn scuba diving.
Take a boat out to the reefs/wrecks on the Red Sea. There is coral near the surface for snorkellers and wrecks for the divers.
We went with Ahlam (Dream) Divers for the day. We left around 0830, and got back at 1830. Ample food and drinks were provided. We went to 3 different locations, the divers were dropped off, and then the snorkellers, and all were picked up by the boat at each place.
It's also a great way to meet other people, and to find out about other events.
On the way back, we trawled for fish, and caught a few.
Well a little dissappointed because the sea is not red colour when I was there ...maybe I am just not lucky that day :-)
