    Jeddah city like other Saudi cities has celebrated the centennial anniversary of the unification of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by late King Abdul Aziz.

    King Abdul Aziz Ibn Abdul Rahman Al-Saud entered Jeddah city in the year 1344 H through Al-Madinah gate after he had settled down Al-Wazieria, and camped in a place known as Al-Raghama, east of what is now known as the Highway. King Abdulaziz nominated his son Faisal Ibn Abdulaziz as general vice governor of Al-Hijaz then he went back to Al-Riyadh.

    On this occasion Jeddah the bride of the Red Sea, was adorned with the brilliant ornaments. Buildings and public parks were also lit with bright and shining lights. A ceremony was held at Abrug AL-Raghama museum on this occasion. Folkloric dances were performed and invaluable information were given about the role of the founder, his experience in unification and construction.

    The education sector of Jeddah city presented a wonderful ceremony and festival in the stadium of the ministry of education. About 2.750 students from 142 schools, supervised by more than 160 teachers and school superintendents participated in the ceremony, presenting various shows, a procession, an operetta and various acts.
