Tokyo Restaurant is one of the well known Japanese resto in Riyadh. As usual, they have cubicle type dining area for families. We tried their Bento Box ~ Shrimp Tempura, Salad and Miso Soup. I would rate it 10 for the generous amount of serving plus the taste. We also ordered chicken terriyaki but it was a bit too sweet but the amount of serving is really good. Their California Maki is great!

    Golden Lobster: Great...Great Food!

When we celebrated our 2nd year wedding anniversary last October 2008, hubby and I decided to try this famous seafood restaurant...Golden Lobster.

The place is good though the dim lights effect cuased me eye strained but neverheless it was a great dining experienced.

We're definitely coming back for more!

We had chicken soup, greek salad and complimentary khobous (arabic bread)

I had their signature Lobster Thermidor (you shouldn't miss this..the flavor and taste is awesome)

    Their crabcakes are equally tasteful..yummy!

Hubby had their grilled chicken and we had creme brulee for dessert.

Favorite Dish: Lobster thermidor and Crabcakes!

    Apple Bee's: Apple Bee's

The place itself is very nice..it gives you an American atmosphere :-) though they still have cubicle area for families.
For guests dining in with children, they have a very nice space for them where they can playor watch TV. It is beautfuly decorated with framed disney and other superhero characters.

As for the food, i did liked their appetizer sampler but the other food that we ordered were all below from my expectations. The pasta was a little bit soggy (the noodles are overcooked), the Ceasar's salad was too plain meaning the dressing doesnt have a taste at all.

Favorite Dish: My fave is their Appetizer sampler. It consists of Nachos wiht SPinach dip, mozzarella sticks, buffalo wings, quesedillas and chicken pops.

Price per person depends on your order.

La Paz Batchoy and Chicken Inasal: Another Great Pinoy Restaurant

    by Cielo_Algaeed Updated Mar 28, 2008

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

I got an email from the owner/manager of this Filipino restaurant after he read my food tip/review of another Pinoy resto here in my page.
He invited me to visit and try their place which is located near Security Forces Hospital (Riyadh)
The place is relatively small about 8 tables for family. Few customers coz i think they have just opened for business.
I enjoyed their food..well cooked, fresh and hot. Very minimal customer when we visited and so the service was superb! We're well attended with our needs, requests and order.
Will definitely be back to check out other food from their menu.

    Favorite Dish: Sizzling Sisig
    Beef wiht Brocolli

    Kruathai Restaurant: Kruathai Restaurant

    by Cielo_Algaeed Updated Mar 28, 2008

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The location of the restaurant is bit off the commercial area wherein lots of fast food chains and other restos are located. The food that we had was ok though they claimed to be a Thai restaurant, they do not have the signature dishes that real Thai resto would offer. The taste of the food was more on the Chinese side.
Poor ventilation and so you would end up smelling like the food that you eat and the other food that they cooked.
    Poor service!

Favorite Dish: We had chicken with cashew nuts and beef brocolli

Favorite Dish: We had buffet salad, grilled chicken and pasta. We also tried their famous crepe ~ banana chocolate crepe

    CREP AWAY: The Yummiest fantasies

by anees Updated Mar 27, 2008

I think Creb Away is the best quality burger restaurant in town. It offers wide verity of dishes including very good BBQ burger, Philly Steaks, Sub Sandwiches, Pizza, Pasta, and fine sweets such as Martine and Magali.
The chain is lebanese, and they have two branches in Riyadh. The best located is in Al Takhasosy street.
They used to have a unique Ice Tea, but they no more offer that one, they now just offer normal ice tea made by famous company.
One good thing about this restaurant, they always allow me to remain eating while they close for prayers time.
The BBQ and drink would cost you SAR 42.

Favorite Dish: BBQ Burgers, Steaks, Chicken Sub, Char-Grilled sandwiches, Estelle, Beatrice and otehrs.

  • Pizza Company: Excellent Pizza

by NadiaAliKhan Written Feb 16, 2008

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This restaurant has the best pizza available in town, yes compared to all major chains like Pizza hut, Dominos etc. Environment is nice althought staff can be a bit inflexible in terms of seating you want to have. But above all food is very good.

    Favorite Dish: Pizza all flavors.

    Restaurant's Two Sections in Riyadh

by Dthey Updated Feb 11, 2008

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

    Family Dating Section: Steak Diner

Restaurants in the Kingdom are divided into two sections: a general eating area for men and a separate and usually a hidden section for "families".

This is either on another floor or is completely screened off from the view of anyone in the male section.

Some small restaurants outside malls do not allow unaccompanied women to eat alone in the family sections.

Some of the fast-foods and take-out restaurants along the road do not even have special window for women. If there isn't and there is no family section either, then single women cannot order anything at all.

Although, on my experience, as long as there are no male customers inside a restaurant you may be able to sneak in and have a very quick order, just be sure to cover up properly for security purposes.

Mosaic Meditteranean Restaurant: Great Buffet~ Marriott

Mosaic Restaurant is one of the in-house resto of Marriott Hotel. Their wide selection of Meditteranean and grilled foods are great.

They have about 20 selection of appetizers plus different kinds of breads.

For the soup...they have tomato and artichoke soup.

While for the main course they have 10 main courses inlcuding the grilled meat and seafoods.

Though i didnt enjoy much of their desserts the hot pudding with almonds wrapped up our dinner :-)

The interior is very nice and cozy...very romantic ambience with dim lights and very simple yet elegant design for the whole restaurant.

Favorite Dish: I love their salmon, shrimp salad, grilled beef and hammour.

    Saudi Champagne

    Pudding for dessert

La Paz Batchoy: Great Pinoy Food

    by Cielo_Algaeed Updated Sep 23, 2007

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

    1 more image

La Paz Batchoy is one of the many Filipino restaurants which you can find in Riyadh. The place is flocked by Filipinos living and working near the Military Hospital.
They have 2 small rooms for family sections but you cannot find the typical family room with small cubicles. The aircon was not working when we visited but we didnt mind and we didnt notice not unitl we finished eating coz we were rather busy enjoying the food :-)

(This tip/review was read by the owner of the restuarant and emailed me about the improvemnt that they made after reading this review of mine. And so, when we visited the place again..it was more organize and the airconditioning units were all working very fine.)

The place is relatively small and if you plan to go after the last prayer i would say you would find yourself waiting to be seated. So, go during Aisha prayer :-)

The food is cheaper than other restaurant but the food is of great amount to satisfy your craving for pinoy dishes. The price is very affordable and the service is good.

Favorite Dish: We tried patatim, beef barbeque, grilled stuffed squid and La paz Batchoy during our first visit but all of it were average. However, during our second visit, we tried chicken barbeque, Beef Mongolian, Sizzling gambas (mixed seafoods on sizzling plate), beef brocolli and home made leche flan for dessert. It was a real great dinner. Yum YUm!

Prices range from 10-30 riyals per order inclusive of of rice

The interior of the restaurant is good.Dim light, cubicle type , very warm and attentive Filipino waiters.

The food and service is really good. The amount of food is good enough to satisfy your craving for steak or salad.

They used a cute mug glass for their drinks (refillable)

Complimentary bread and butter plus 4 pieces of mint chocolates after meal.

Five spoons for good service, food ambience and location.

    Note:
Parking may be a little bit hard esp during weekend.
