i have been to this mall on my last trip as if it was my first time there ever! my colleague took me to the lady-only floor of this mall, which is exlusively run by women staff, and attended by women customers. there are cafes and restaurants for women only.
this comes as a reaction to women's need for privacy from men's 'intrusion'. since women in saudi are expected to cover their head and sometimes their face, this shopping mall gives them more freedom to do their shopping more freely.
the shopping mall consists of 4 floors; one is for women only. the rest of the building is just giantic and probably more than 60 floors. you can see it from the airplane!
What to buy: all major brands from United Colours of Benetton to Georgio Armani
restaurants
cafés
beauty salons
lingerie
music
choclataire
What to pay: average to expensive

For the average mass like me and probably even for the affluent the end-season sale, which happen around January to February and July to August, can be an unforgettable experience. For the destitute, most likely is me at times, window shopping can be as thrilling.
To compare with Metro Manila shopping district, Riyadh is haven, to actually see 75% discount on designers and other well known brands are heart pounding. Never in my Philippine life this kind of discount ever happen. Stores are surging with great items at very low prices, never-ending feast of late night shopping, dining and women talk at every café inside malls.
