I can't describe everything, but there are traditional houses from Asir provence, traditional boats, crafts, food, camel races, music & traditional sword dance, and games for the children. Men and children can go anytime, but women must attend on "family" days, which will then exclude single men, I believe. I was invited by a couple of my Saudi students who dressed in western style clothing for the occasion. Monsur and Abdullah are shown in some photos. Great guys and more helpful toward appreciating the Saudi culture than the mock dates and tea ceremonies put on at the residential compounds. Leave a Comment Directions: Ask around the work place. Somebody will know how to get there. I believe it takes place in winter.Website: http://www.arabnews.com/?page=1§ion=0&article=59464&d=24&m=2&y=2005 Other Contact: http://www.saudinf.com/main/y790

I just visited this place with my father couple of days back and it really was a wonderful experience. The themes in which it is presented is really superb. It starts from How earth came into being and then articles from different civilizations dated back several hundred BC and then days before islam and how it spread in different regimes and then about Ottoman's empire (although I would have loved to see more info on it) and then how Abdul Aziz captured(reunited) and thus came into this world a country called Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The best thing which I liked about it is that they have english translation as well which is very useful for expats like us. Do also visit Murabba Palace. Its a stunning architectural monument, opened in 1999, built To celebrate the centenary of Saudi Unification. It really is a well planned and well maintained place ...... definately worth a visit !!! seriously I didnt expect it to be that good :) Costs per person: 15 SR (4 USD) Leave a Comment Directions: Its near Batha and next to the Water tank(pump) whatever it is.
