Visit the Camel Souk

by Elmsaafir

This is a fascinating place if you like camels (as I do). Everywhere, there are purveyors of the unusual ungulates. Take an afternoon to just wander and see the myriad wondrous beasts. Big ones, small ones, fat ones, pretty ones, ugly ones, and best of all, the babies...there's not much that's cuter than a baby camel...See the proof in the picture below.

It was extensively renovated in the 1980's and is now devoted to Abdul Aziz and his unification of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. If you look close enough , there is a hole on the wooden door , from a spear thrown by the enemy...Opening Hours Sat-Wed 8am-12pm & 4pm-9pm; Thu 9am-12pm; FAMILY only Sun, Tue & Thu

The tower is about 5 minutes drive from Faisalia Tower , at night it looks like a beautiful curtain which changes colour...the inner part of the purple light is actually a hole ,,,yes a hole in the building ...cool huh the Kingdom Tower won the prize for the world’s best skyscraper of the year 2003, awarded by the World Skyscrapers Commission, out of 350 buildings worldwide that were competing for the title. This tower rises over 300m and has a gross built-up area of 185,000 sqm. plus 115,000 sqm. of parking space for up to 3,000 cars.

A glass elongated pyramid ......with a mall , hotel and luxurious reataurant...I heard you can see people perfoming Kenyan dance in the Brazilian Restaurant ( but I was thinking , why Brazilian and Kenyan ? Why not Persian , Arabian ? etc etc )
