Hey, you dont need to worry at all, 'cause buses from Damascus to Aleppo are going on every hour. Just go to Karaj Bulman (Karaj Harasta) station in Damascus and there are lots and lots of agencies that will offer you a bus to Aleppo. The ticket is about 200-300 syrian lira and you will be in Aleppo in 5 hours. The road s very good, it;s a highway, so dont worry. Have fun in Syria! Leave a Comment Theme: Bus

The best way to travel in Damascus is by taxi. It is an amazing experience because of the hectic traffic. Prices are negotiable so if you don't know the price ask it at the desk of your hotel or drive by the meter. We wanted to go up the hill so we stared bargaining with a driver. In a few moments there were three more taxi's that wanted to drive us up the hill. We paid 300 from our hotel to the top and that was with 5 persons. I never knew that 5 would fit; 3 in the back and 2 on the passenger seat. The trip back was cheaper 150, but that is understandable, because it is easier to pick up a new load in the city that it is at the hill. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

All the small taxi companies have been cleared out of the arrival area. Outside the arrival building, there is a kiosk for taxis operated by Julia Dumna. Do not ask who owns this company, but the fares have increased to SYP 1,000 to the city centre and more for other destinations. You have no choice, if you want to travel by taxi, as the police chase any lingering yellow taxis away. Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane

Buses for Beirut depart from the Baramkeh bus station, which is on Palestine Street. Ask for Garaj Baramkeh. When you reach the bus station, which is on a busy road, walk through the entrance gate and the ticket office is in the small building immediately to your left. The women selling the tickets speak very little English, but they are used to dealing with foreign travellers. There is a small, basic cafeteria to wait in, but there are better options outside the bus station on the other side of the road, where there is a range of cheap local fast food outlets. They serve water on the bus, but I would advise taking your own bottle. The Syrian/Lebanese border formalities are fairly straightforward, but someone from the bus will probably guide you through anyway. I took a Karnak bus, which left Damascus at 3.30 pm and arrived in Beirut at 7.30pm. It cost S£175 and it was fine. There are buses at 7.30am, 8.30am, 9.30am, 12, 2.30pm, 3.30pm and 4.30pm. I suggest taking the Jett bus. Greatly sattisfied with the service. Not much of a hassle with the journey. Costs me about 300 SL. Bear in mind that one has to alight and get on the bus a few times at the Jordanian and Syrian border. Theme: Bus

Jett runs two buses per day from Amman to Damascus at 7 am and 3 pm for 6JD. The Jett station is not part of the Abdali Station. It is 1 km away. Leave a Comment Theme: Bus

I hate the Baramkeh taxi station. The taxi drivers were acting in very uncivilized manner. Avoid the taxi station unless you are in a group of four. They will be fighting and arguing with each other in order to grab your passport and make sure that you take their taxi to 'Amman. It took me five hours to reach 'Amman because of the driver and one passenger trying to smuggle cigarettes to Jordan. They do this a lot I was told. My advice is take a bus to Jordan and not a taxi. If you still do then only pay 400-500SL. Theme: Car/Motor Home

They drive like crazy just as everywhere in the Arab world. On average, pay 25SL if the journey takes 5 minutes; 50SL if it takes 10 minutes. Shouldn't be paying more than 100SL anywhere you go in Damascus/Dimashq/Dimishq/Damas. Theme: Car/Motor Home
