Fondest memory: Actually U can find a lot of interesting monuments in this city.
You will really see so ancient things wich will amaze you.
And there is a christian citadel near the city..
Food is cheap there..transport as well...people there like touristes and help them.. but it's not recomended for for a girl to go alone there if she knew nobody..
Even though the city is so safe generally.
dont hesitate to ask questions
With it's superb located zone, the strength of Archers, warriors, knights and many tricky stuffs like the Aqueduct which was surrounding the entire Citadel, and the right placed Main door in a 90 degree corner to make a penetration very difficult, boiling oil, secret ways under ground.....
Fondest memory: Check out this picture, here you enter like me and you can not use the wood cylinder to attack a door in the right!
Beautiful minds and excellent defense idea!
The Ceiling of the Mosque:
Gorgeous as always in any Mosque,
the great thing in this Mosque is the experience when you stand in the right side and then try to whisper so low to the one who stands in the left side, and like magic you will hear each other despite the distance
Sorry to have this bad lighted picture, but it is the origin jug of the King, one of the many of them, ha ha ha and it is till now full of water!
Even the construction workers who are in restoration the Citadel use it as a jug for water but for their instruments, LOL
Without damaging it of course!
Favorite thing: Archer is ready to shoot, his arches and arrows are ready, and it is placed all over in all the directions of the citadel to guarantee a full defense , and by the way almost impossible to kill the Archer from this shield!
Favorite thing: Death by arrows and boiling oil is ready to meet any invader, the king looks to the Archer doing his job, but he must go in silence, the upper window is for shooting the arrows, and the lower one is for the boiling oil Eeeeeek!
Favorite thing: The King turns left and know about the secret path leading out of the falling citadel in the case of losing the battle, in this scenario, he run and open the ground gate and here it is a stairs to the freedom!
Favorite thing: The king is out now from his Royal throne room and the first he see is this defense point of the leader *General* hall, he see that it is still empty and many bodies are thrown near by, but he knows where to go next so he over pass them all and go ahead!
Favorite thing: A Lovely Fountain is placed in the middle of the Royal throne hall, today in every Arabian house in Aleppo and Damascus there is a fountain in the middle, People likes to have a rest and relax near it and watching the lovely water from it near the green views and smoking water pipe Argileh
Espionage to the down sector of the citadel is so easy up from here, and the great thing no one down will be able to realize he is watched by the eyes of the King, big brother LOL
But shall say also it is good to know where the enemies are moving and what have they reached!
Favorite thing: Inside the big throne hall you will see some beautiful wooden roofs and closets, the middle of the hall you will see a beautiful fountain, which is so typical for any beautiful eastern style wealth place, and the rest is empty where you can't cross, but when the President of Syria meet his guests in Aleppo they sit and have the dinner here, like he did with the King and Queen of Spain recently
Favorite thing: Ceiling of the throne room is the most beautiful part of the room, most colored and decorated and art section in the whole citadel, it used to be similar in the past, but many parts where destroyed or pillaged, so that's why it is restored today
Favorite thing: In the middle of the light over there, the kings throne was placed, the light in his back was not allowing people to see his face and body but as a shadow, and that gives him a respecting view and fear for the simple people.
The best section in the Citadel, but I have to tell you immediately, the wood hand fantastic work on it is all made of the biggest masters in the 20 century,
It is meant to be a gorgeous restored hall to show the Syrian art in wood
Favorite thing: Yes it is a great trick; you can see here the top of the walls like the headgear of the soldiers, so from far away the enemies will have the illusion that the soldiers are guarding the Citadel, even if there are no soldiers!
