The museum to end all museums! Impressive, stunning, exceptional mosaics found in the dead cities in the area and placed here, in the wonderful 16th century Ottoman Khan Murad Pasha. Great art and great architecture... what more would one want? Entrance (January 2003) was 150 Syrian pounds) and keep in mind that museums close on Tuesday. Photos are not allowed. Ma'arat an-Nu'aman is a lively market town about 45 minutes south of Aleppo.

    day trips: Qala'at Samaan...
Another good day trip would be to :Qala'at Samaanor also known as The Basilica of St. Simeon.
St. Simeon was told that he lived on a pillar, preached his teachings there even.
After he died, his followers built this church at that time was the biggest church in this region.

    day trips: The Dead Cities...
There are obviously some good sites around Aleppo that we can go for a short day trip !
One of the best day trips would be to The Dead Cities !
There are many 'dead cities' around the southwest of Aleppo but 2 of the most-visited are :
    Serjilla
    &
    Al-Bara
( Click On The Links... )
The Dead Cities is a collective cities or towns which existed thousand of years ago but the inhabitants left without any good reason, hence leaving the towns (known as 'The Dead Cities') as we can see now.
The towns are of course in the state of ruins now but there are traces of bath houses, pillars to woo people coming to see these 'cities' with their own eyes !

    covered souq: Al-Nahhaseen Hammam
You will have a signal pointing to this hammam inside the Nahhasin Souq, on the right handside when you are exiting the Citadel. Although hammam is in the middle of the souq, it is not that difficult to find as it has usually the doors opened and you can see the changing room from the souq.
It has warm staff and you can get a full bath with massage for about 500 SYP.
For the moment entrance is only for men.
    Very popular between locals.
