This place can be visited either from Tartus or from Homs. In my case, it was from Homs.
There are service buses going straight to the castle but not frequent. Ask around.
if you want to be adventurous, take any bus from Homs going to Tartus & get dropped on the highway. It'll be another 10 km so you can hitchhike, if you fancy it that way...
