Guns

by freya_heaven

There are people with guns all over Israel, coming from a country where even the police do dont carry guns its strange to get used to.On top of Mount Hermon there were some soldiers & Ray went up to them asking if he could hold one of their guns, not thinking for one minute he would be allowed. The photos speaks for itself what the outcome was. I assume it was not loaded!

Syrian Remains

Until 1967, the Golan Heights was part of Syria and was populated by Syrians. In the 1967 war, the local population escaped into Syria, except for the 4 Druze villages which are still there today. When you drive around the Golan you can still see deserted villages and houses, some with bullet holes, like this mosque here.

The border fence separated the Golan Druze from their brothers in Syria after the 1967 war. There is a place where Druze from both sides come to see each other. As the distance from the other side if minimal there. People come there and shout to their relatives on the other side. It's right on the outskirts of Majdal Shams.
