Train from Aleppo to Latakia

by MalenaN

From Aleppo I took the train together with Morgan and Katjalin from France. We got seats in second class, which have quite hard seats with straight backs. First class looks much more comfortable with soft seats which you can lean back in and air-condition. Unfortunately there were no seats left there.I wanted to buy something to drink on the train but there was nothing. But when the train stopped, sellers entered to sell soft drinks. It took about 3,5 hours to go to Latakia.

Taxi

by dr.firas

In the beginning we thought both with Malena to have the micro buses to make the roam in the desert; fortunately in the way to the bus station I mentioned it to the Taxi driver, so he offered to make an exceptional price for us, with a place just for 2 not in a bus with many people sweating LOL and plus it was fun and comfortable!and he was a good guide also! Not forgetting how he saved our lives with the litters of fresh cold water supporting us and keeping us alive *not exaggerating while saying that* so thanks we were lucky!

Very inexpensive domestic travel

by Bavavia

I was surprised at the low cost of a flight from Damascus to Aleppo....a round trip ticket was only $ 50! The planes are all nice large planes and they serve two meals in this short flight, a small snack....then a sandwich ( it was a morning flight). Be prepared to surrender your passport for domestic flights within Syria, dont worry, you will get it back at your destination.....it is just a rule and you must give it to them just as you enter the last security check point and waiting to board plane, that is when they take it. When you arrive, they have someone handing them back out to you.

A train from Euorpe to Syria

by fouads

It's easy to reach Syria overland from London, using the 'Toros Express' from Istanbul to Aleppo and Damascus. First, you need to reach Istanbul .The journey from London to Istanbul takes three nights, and departures from London are daily .and in Syria The famous 'Toros Express' runs once a week from Istanbul's Haydarpasa station on the Eastern shores of the Bosphorus, to Aleppo on Thursday and then you can take another train to Damsacus

Bus again!

Bus from Damscus to Busra, less than half an hour to be their! The Bus should be taken from the second not basic main station, So be careful and do not mistake by going to the main station as it transports only to the big cities like Aleppo or Hamah or Hims and so...

To St Simeon you can go by buss or by a taxi!Better to find a microbus to take you there! But the best thing is to go by car with Dr.Firas! If you are his friend! That is definitely the best choice! LOL
