Keep your valuables close and just be aware of pick pockets..and the like.. I didn't have a problem but I was warned about it....so be safe! some of the market areas are very crowded and it is easy to get jammed up with alot of people......another thing to be aware of is,try not to wear expensive jewelry or clothing as it could make you a target for theft[[and you would have that problem in ANY big ciy]]. I felt most comfortabe when I wore average clothes and did not stand out from the crowd....It is not my intention to make anyone fearful of going to Adana as it is worth the trip!
If you're from northern Europe or North America, be aware that you may have a delicate digestive system; the food and water in Turkey may give you gasto-intestinal distress at first. Bring Immodium and/or consume lots of yogurt and ayran (a yogurt drink) if your insides become upset.
