Hasan Usta Kebap: Adana Kebab

by smeagol13

The most famous, but not the best taste in the local Adana kebab. Location may be a bit far from the attractive points of the city, but the taste may be worthy of getting there. Adana Kebab, even a light version is available

Nihat's: Excellent Turkish home style cooking

by Teaspoon67

This is the Nihat's in the Industrial park. They do not start serving until 1130. Every time you go they have different dishes which are ready to eat. Just point to what you want or put it on your tray. This is a Lokanta which caters to the managers who work in the industrial park, so it is a bit more upscale than the typical lokanta. It is very clean and the service isgood. The also have a regular order from the menu restraunt attached. But the whole point of this is the ability to try different things. Pictures are available on their website which is in english and turkish. There soups are good and the lamb kebab with cheesemelted was very good, But I have never seen the same thing twice.

Asmaalti Kebab Salonu: "Adana kebap" is a must !

by smeagol13

Well, the word "kebab" is actually a word of Arabic and Persian cultures. But for many people, this "art" has reached its peak in Turkey. And when you say "kebab", in any place of Turkey; people think of "Adana" before anything else.In conclusion, the taste of "kebab" is at the highest level in the world, in Adana. And the restaurant Asmaalti, is where one can taste the "real Adana kebab". "Adana kebab" and Shalgam; which is a local drink served with the food.

Tanriseven Restaurant: Wonderful Food Here

by ann500

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Turkey - everytime we are in Adana we visit this place. They have a big menu but we always get some sort of kebab (the meat is very generous and fresh), fresh salads, mezes and the hummus warmed in the oven with cheese melted over the top is divine (high in calories, but it's a special treat!). And the price for what you get is unbeatable. The staff there told us that they often get up to 800 people per night! Indoor and outdoor seating. Everything

Our Host's home: When you're invited home.

by ogb4619

When you're invited to dine in a Turkish home, this is the sort of spread of food that you may find (including the deadly raki). It's hard to describe the taste of this higly alcoholic "spirit" which many people brew at home. The best way to describe Raki is to say that a Boeng 747 could fly from Istanbul to L.A. on 3 small bottles of the stuff. However, our hosts, Serkan and his wife Ipek with sister and children feted us each night with magnificent food such as this.Except for the copius amounts of bread, the fresh vegetables and grilled meats, make it a low cholestrol, high fibre, non-fattening food. My mouth is watering already. I wanna go back.

1,000s to chose from: Kebab anyone?

by ogb4619

The Adana Kebab is supposed to be quite famous. In Istanbul, many restaurants offered "Adana Kebab" at the top of their menu.If you don't like kebabs and the kilos of Turkish bread that comes with it, you have a problem. I have no solution. The Turkish answer to Lebanese (or Pita) bread is 10 or more pieces of very heavy, thick slices of bread served with everything. Loads of cut tomatoes and greens are served with all but the Doner Kebab which comes in either chicken or beef. The Doner is a thinner bread wrapped around the meat and for me, much easier palatable. The good news about Adana food is that the bagettes they make are much nicer than the Parisienne ones where the crusty bits are much softer and palatable than their French equivalent. That comment might stir up an arguement but that's my strong opinion.I remember clearly bighting into your standard Paris bagette and taking 5 minutes...

Hasan Usta: The Kebab Factory

by basak

Whereever you go to Turkey, you can find "Adana Kebap" in kebap-houses. However, none of them tastes like original Adana Kebap you would find in Adana. There are incredible number of small Kebab-houses in Adana. You can find and eat delicious Adana kebap 24 hours a day. If you ask me, even the air smells kebab in Adana during the day. One of the most famous places is Hasan Usta Restaurant. The originality of the restaurant is their ability to serve kebab to very many persons (about 8 thousand people in a day) at the same time in an incredible speed. It worths paying a visit there to observe their serving system. They have a huge restaurant full of short tables and chairs. At the moment you go in, they start serving the salads. In Adana they have very delicious, fresh and cheap vegetables, as a result in Adana culinary salad became an indispensable company of every dish and kebap is no...

Kayikhane (The Boathouse) Restaurant

by basak

Kayikhane is a nice fish restaurant in the university campus. Unfortounately it is not open to public anymore. You can go there only with a friend who is university personnel. The restaurant is just by the Seyhan Lake and has a wonderful view. It is thebest place to watch the sunset. The silhouette of the city looks like Manhattan (i've never been to Manhattan, but people tell so)Kayikhane takes its name from the boathouse of the university just near by. The restraurant is open between 11:00 am and 24.00 am.Adana is very famous by its special kebab. However, if you ever bored by eating red-meat, kayikhane offers a good alternative. If you are not hungry, you can go there only for drinking tea-coffee. Alcoholic drinks are also served.

Any little restaurant around: "Adana kebab"

by smeagol13

There are almost one kebab restaurant in every 100 meters in the city centre of Adana. anyone can be satisfavtory and cheap enough for a budget traveler to afford.
