The Big Bazaar (Carsi)
Adana has many shopping places from very large shopping malls on the outskirts (such as M1/Real and the Carrefour Hypermarket) to the more upscale shopping area in the city (with Gucci and the like, boutiques, reasonably-priced clothing stores, nice cafes), but my favorite place to shop is the bazaar or carsi in Turkish (pronounced char-sha) somewhere in the middle of the city. This is a large place with an interior and exterior section, it's a place where locals shop - you can buy so many things here... just about anything. Home goods and kitchenware, textiles, electric appliances, cell phones, a large meat section, lots of spices, nuts, toys, shoes, clothes, excellent tea, beauty supplies, tabbacco, bags, purses, watches, DVDs and many more things.
