Running in Adana
As a passionate long distance runner I am always looking for a good route to run.
Unfortunately, running is not the biggest hit in Turkey and definetely not in Adana - well, who runs voluntarily with these temperatures anyhow :-))))
So most locals probably assume I am either crazy or I have stolen something when they see me running in Adana.
One of the better routes to run is along the Seyhan river. Firstly, you do not have to fear for your live getting hit by a car or scooter (like while running next to the streets).
Secondly, the route is mostly flat and the surface (for Adana standards) fairly good. Just watch the occassional potholes or cracked tarmac.
Start at the Old Historic Bridge close to the Hilton Hotel (other side of the river). Run directly next to Seyhan river. You can e.g. run until the old Dam (white green sign DSI), cross over the dam bridge and run into the park to your left and then return on the other side of the river until you reach the Hilton.
This route will be around 15 km.
Do NOT run when it's dark, the route is only parly lit !!!
