Papsi Bar is a great little corner bar with a friendly atmosphere. Everything is constructed out of wood (unusual for Turkey) which makes it cozy and warm. It has a very international crowd, all languages are spoken here, especially that of good music and cold beer! For me, this was a home away from home.

The Sakarya Caddesi area NW of Kizilay Meydani, is a lveily area with numerous types of places to eat and drink or spend time, but specifically it has many nightclubs and bars, both those geared towards simply drinking beer, raki, or cocktails, as well as a few clubs that are a bit more risque. The places are not just on Sakarya street but also on Selanik, Tuna, and Inkilap. One street in particular (I think it's Inkilap, but don't remember exactly), in a block right off of Sakarya, has bar after bar one after another and one multiple floors. Just look for the obvious row of signs for Efes and other beers and listen for the dance music pumping out into the street. Unlike places in the US with many bars and especially those with risque clubs, however, this is in no way a seedy area and is a great place for couples and families with young children as well. It's simply a happening place, just about any time of day or night. In short it caters to pretty much everyone and it's a great place to find all sorts of nighttime entertainment or refreshment.

After having a supper in my hotel "Capital" I went for a late evening walk to search several sights which were situated close to the hotel. It was difficult to take photos in darkness but my video camera gave me an opportunity to take a video which I've put on Youtube.

There is very good bars, dancing clubs, pubs, cafees in Ankara. If you stay in a Hotel in Çankaya region, you can find one just walking distance.
I strongly advise you, keep away from Turkish Night clubs (called: gazino). They are really tourist trap.
Dress Code: There is no any dress code for the bars&clubs in here.

You can find every kind of Bars in Ankara. Most of them situated in Kizilay/Sakarya Caddesi. Bars around Kizilay are cheaper ones, beer is quite cheap:) Actually when I was a poor student I used to go there a lot with my friends to listen Rock music. You can listen live Rock music almost every night. If you don't smoke, don't go there for your health :)
If you want to go to better places you should go to Cankaya region :)

You can dance and listen each day another kind of music like jazz, alternative rock, blues as live.
Manhattan has been recognized by not only performing music types like jazz, rock and blues, but also presenting other ethnic or popular music kinds without having commercial concerns.

This is the most decent Pub in Ankara, has another branch in the district but this one is more cosy and friendly. You can have nice food and good music, there is a small but very green garden open all summer. Barmen and waiters are kind and friendly. You can find other North Shield Pubs in Istanbul, Izmir and at the main airports of Turkey

Turca serves as a restaurant/bar. The bar, small rectangular room located in the ground floor, gave me the impression that the design was done back in the 70s - a la Studio 54. Well, probably styled after that, but the furniture and the bar stools combined with the walls, just made me stop for a minute and think...
Alright, alright... It's a bar at the end of the night ;-) So let's look at the other things - the prices are about $10-15 for long-drinks, but they are not well-prepared. If you are a vodka-lover, you might be happy as a shrimp - there sponsor is Absolut.
A DJ starts spinning about midnight, an not-so-smooth mix of club tunes...
To sum it up: It was such a disappointment after all I heard about this place.
Dress Code: Dress smartly.

This is another restaurant/cafe that serves good cocktails ;-)
There is always live music scheduled for the weekends, and if I'm not wrong on Wednesdays. They usually play Turkish pop/rock songs.
When we went there our intention was to chat with good music in the background. But the crowd was loudly singing along with the musicians, who were very talented. So instead of packing and leaving, we stayed and joined the rest.
The wait staff was very helpful in locating and directing us to a quiter table all night long. We switched tables three times, but had a lot of fun overall!
Cafe Pampero has another branch in Bahcelievler, but apparently this spot is better.
