Frankly I dont know what's the name of the restaurant I went in Ankara as I was following the group tour. But I will always remember the pide and the cherry juice. There were yummy! In Malaysia, 'pide' is known as 'roti nan'. Usually you will find roti nan sold in Indian restaurants. But the one in Turkey was so fluffy. Leave a Comment Theme: Local

So... Was it worth it? We wandered for an hour and a half to find this place, one of us nursing a horrible hangover, we got lost on the way, stumbled across a demonstration and riot police, climbed about 100 steps and navigated our way through a ghost town. At the end of it all we found, as promised by my trusty Lonely Planet guide, a beautiful Ottoman house in perfect condition serving tasty omelettes and good cappuccinos (and Efes) at reasonable prices with a stunning view of all of Ankara. We were served breakfast al fresco on the second floor terrace which opened onto a fully decorated and accessorised Ottoman living room. My Turkish wasn't up to translating the menu I'm afraid, so I played it safe and guessed that 'omlet' might be a good breakfast option. Bingo! I chose two different types and both were delicious - a perfect, well deserved treat after climbing all those steps to get there! This is a stunning Restaurant / Art Gallery / Museum with spectacular city views and excellent service. Well worth a visit. As an İskender fan, I can Easily say this is one of the best restaurants in Ankara serving İskender. İskender is the only main course served here, but also you can taste wonderful desserts here. Prices are not very high when thought with the quality you observe. To add, especially at friday and saturday nights you can watch 'Karagöz ve Hacıvat' a traditional Turkish muppet theatre. The name of the restaurant comes from here ('kukla' means 'muppet' in Turkish); the founder has been a muppet master.
