I like to see cities from above! When in Ankara you can do it for free up from the Ankara castle or you can pay 7,5TL and take the elevator on the ugly tower of Atakule that is located at Cankaya district.
We parked at the lower level and we took the glass elevator to the top.
From up there you have 360’ view but a policeman will inform you that you can take pictures only from one side!!! It’s because the other side houses the residence of President of Turkey! The Cankaya Kosku (Cankaya Mansion) that was built in 1932 covers an area of 438acres. No need to mention that after 10’ we’ve seen everything and regret the time we lost to visit the tower :)
Right below the tower is located the Botanic Park (pic 4) that we were supposed to walk a bit after our visit to the tower but we preferred to go for a coffee :)
The entrance fee is 7,5TR
There is a parking under the tower (5TL for 1h, 6TL for 2h, 7 for 3, 8 for 4, 9 for 5, 10 for 6, 15 for 12, 25 for 24h

If you climb to Çankaya, you can reach to Atakule and botanical park. At the top of Atakule tower you can see almost all Ankara.
