Bacus restaurant bar: Delicious foods and good wines

Bacus restaurant: Sea bass & sour sauce
    2 more images

Bacus restaurant offers really delicious foods and good wines. International dishes, good starters, salads, pastas, pizzas and main courses with beef, chicken or fish. Also traditional Turkish cuisine, different kinds of kebabs and a special menu for kids. Bacus bar has a wide selection of classic cocktails and every hour is a happy hour, which means that when you buy one cocktail, you’ll get one free.

Bacus has a convenient location in the west side of Alanya, near to the Cleopatra Beach (No. 10). They have also free pick-up service, you just call (+90 242 511 2125) and they will pick you up from your hotel in Alanya.

I can highly recommend Bacus restaurant bar - classy place, nice atmosphere, good service, very friendly and hospitable owner and staff.

Favorite Dish: I especially recommend the sea bass & sour sauce, it is very delicious!

    Hilal Piknik Restaurant: different!

by iaint Updated Aug 28, 2013
    relaxed
    2 more images

The part of the Dim River just below the dam is full of "picnic waterpark" restaurants.

You bring your won food, rent a table and get to use the place's waterpark style fun features - slides, dives etc.

    Some also offer food.

We chose one of the ones which would serve food to us. We sat on a small platform half a meter above the river - on cushions, not western style chairs. Had we wanted to, we could have dangled our feet in the water.

Great fun. Cool too. Being lunchtime in August, it was in the mid 30s.

The food was good - an Adana kebab. D had meze, and the teenagers (not yet trusting in Turkish cuisine) had French fries. The table cost was included in the meal prices.

It was very busy - a Sunday - and had we been a bit later, getting parking and a table might have been tricky.

Very Turkish. We only saw 1 other group of westerners. Tour companies do offer excursions up there, but I'm guessing they use a few tourist friendly places. Not ours, anyway.

D paid, so I can't help with prices.

Favorite Dish: Adana kebab, of course!

See my other tip on McDonalds East side.

The prices are about the same as in any other big city

  • Sampyion: Amazing, local restaurant

by LaWiPa Written Jul 16, 2011

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

We had dinner three times at this restaurant. (Two adults, two teenagers and a 9-year-old).

    The food is simply perfect.

The restaurant is - off course - specialized in kebab, but the quality is far beyond any off the touristy places in the surrounding area. This is probably the reason 90% of the guests are local turks.

The pricing of the restaurant is about 50% of normal levels for the area. (Dinner for 5 incl. starters and drinks is about 100 TL).

Favorite Dish: Osmannish Kebab is the best we tried in Alanya.

However, if you think that rice or french fries is part of this dish, you should order it on the side. Here it is served the right way.

Beyaz Saray Restaurant: Life on the river!

    by Bushman23 Written Jul 16, 2011

    Our table :)
    1 more image

Just below the DimĆay dam are several restaurants/aqua parks, all offering lunch on the river, on floating platforms. The one we chose was the Beyaz Saray Restaurant, which was amazing. They offer excellent food, Turkish style dining (sitting on the floor, on cushions – which makes sense when you realize your table is always moving :p), good service, and quite a unique ambience. On top of this is the Aqua park, which consists mostly of a slide, and bridges over the river. The water is very cold though!

Favorite Dish: I ate Sea Bass, which was one of the best fish I’ve ever had, Asia had Sea Bream, though she preferred mine, and our mates had Kebabs, which were also very good. Price in total was about 120 Lira, which is quite reasonable.

Izzy's Restaurant & Bar: Best in Town!

    by Bushman23 Written Jul 13, 2011
Suprise starter, though it is hollow :p
    1 more image

In the heart of Mahmutlar is Izzy’s, serving some of the best local & international food in the area. It had been recommended to me by an Englishman earlier in the day, and we decided to have dinner there. Maybe it’s because our hotel food was so rubbish too, but we loved the place! A nice atmosphere (even though the music was a bit too dancy), brilliant service, some nice surprises (like a local bread dish served as a starter, on the house), and amazing food resulted in a wonderful evening.

Favorite Dish: I ate a Fillet Steak, must’ve been about 300g, with Mushrooms & Onions, served with salad & veg. Asia had a Kebab with Aubergines, also a huge meal, with veg & salad, although she says the nest time we go there, she’s gonna have my steak :) All this, plus drinks, for 70 Lira (35 Euros), including the tip!

This restaurant is beautiful evening for a couple or with friends. In a relaxed atmosphere and a wonderful view over the harbor and the bay of Alanya is it a good go at the delicious selfmade beer (6.5 YTL) and great food. From 20.00 then there is usually live music ... and even more to enjoy ;-)

Favorite Dish: Unfortunately eat no fish, which also probably have been very tasty. But some great times I have eaten meat dishes and really enjoyed.

    Alara Inn: Feeling Keykubat

by traveloturc Written May 31, 2008

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

It’s located 800m far away the Citadel of Alara on the Alara Stream. Whole caravanserai has been built on a land of piece of 2000 square metres. The inn, built in 1231, was restored a few years ago and is to be used as restaurant and shop centre. The warders hut keeps its specialities today. The second door of the caravanserai opens out to the guest rooms. There are small rooms next two sides of the long hall. There is a fountain, a small mosque and a bathhouse in the caravanserai. The signatures of the stone craftsmen which searched out during the reparation are very conspicuous. Keykubat said in the epigraphs in Alanya he was,” the sultan of the land and the two seas, the owner of the Arabic and Persian countries” and in the epigraphs in Alara Inn he got the titles,”The conqueror of Greek, Damascus, Armenian and european countries.” Alara Inn must have been paid for visitting. You can have your meal in the restaurant in the Inn as well as the small eating houses on countryside and you can swim till mealtime

Our waiter & colleague making our steaks outside
    3 more images

It was definitely the best place we visited. Below I describe how the waiters can make a show out of everything, sometimes throwing burning bottles and making food outside in front of people.
That time the waiters (all males) were dressed in similar clothes which was nice. Nice orange shirts towards a tanned brown skin and dark hair looked nice. They were amazing: they might run to welcome you, escort to a table. If you come another day, they may ask the time and reserve a table...you will be surprised! It's not just for that there might be too many people, but in our case they had created an enormously romantic table with roses, rose leaves put everywhere, napkin art, colours, candles - even if it was just another evening. No honeymoon, no wedding or other anniversaries.

I found it very funny, amusing and nice when the guys suddenly started some dance together, standing in a line, holding each other, and those on the ends had a scarf which they moved around. It was Turkish -but not traditional- music that took me immediately: it was Tarkan, one of Turkey's most popular and sold pop singer. I bought his CD afterwards.

Favorite Dish: We ate there so many times that I don't remember...perhaps the steak! They made it on open fire outside, so that everybody could see that. They didn't save ingredients and alcohol when making the portion tasty.

Irish Coffees where bigger than in my country; made from a good Whiskey (Jameson, the Irish one). We saw the bottle as they made also the Irish coffees outside, making a performance out of it pouring liquids from a glass to another or from a bottle to a glass.

If you still want to sit in this nice place after dinner, try their specialty dessert drink: a watermelon first made empty and now filled with a mixture of alcohol. It is drunk with a straw together with your partner or friend. Or why not alone, too.

Restaurant Avlu: If you get tired with Turkish - excellent seafood!

by WanderingFinn Written Jan 21, 2008

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

    A seafood dinner at Avlu.

First of all it's nice to eat outside it the nice warm (but not hot) night; especially for us coming from the north. The restaurant was not full of tourists; no locals at all. One reason might be the fact that it was not one of the cheapets, but one of the quality ones. Still easy-going.

The man suggested us to order whole lobsters for some night (order some days beforehand so it would be fresh directly from the fishermen); but due to the high price we couldn't afford that. The man still gave us his visit card just in case we change our minds. He was kind.

We ate some nice other quality seafood instead.

The athmosphere was almost too "lazy" or then we chose a wrong timing. Too early perhaps? There didn't seem to be many customers and it was a big place. No music, not even silent, just the two of us at our corner and the waiters.

Favorite Dish: Simply: seafood. I could have eaten almost everything from their menu.

RAVZA RESTAURANT: One of the best restaurants in Alanya

by Tamina Written Nov 6, 2007

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Adana kebap - its hot and spicy
    4 more images

This is a very special place. Ravza is one of the oldest restaurants in Alanya, since 1955 at one place (Tourism started just in the Sixties) and managed in the 4th generation in the family.

Especially from grilled food and the fantastic pides, lahmacuns and Mevlanas (flat wheat bread with several toppings, a little like pizza) I can´t never get enough of. I know the most traditional food restaurants in Alanya (I live here for 7 years) but Ravza is the best. The most of the meat comes from the own farm and butcher, not from wholesale. That´s the secret of the taste...

    Other specialities (beside the pides):

    1. Liver
the have it not always, but you should ask for the LIVER PAN - its great.

    2. Fish
From October to May you also get a perfect grilled fish for a low price (complete Menu with rice and rich salads for ~ 10 Euro)

    3. Ayran
You have to try this beverage. It is just joghurt with water and salt, but they use their own homemade joghurt from the family farm. There is no better at hot days. I´m addicted to dirnk this :-)

You absolutely can be sure that they never ever cheat you, because the family is very religious and to threaten guests respectfully and honest is their first principe. That´s also the cause why you will get no alcohol there.

You will find it when you walk from the big Atatürk memorial in city direction (on the way to the harbour) opposite the Turkish Commercial bank (Türk Ziraat Bankasi). If you ask someone there - everybody knows Ravza.

    Favorite Dish: Liver pan
spicy, fresh liver with vegetables on a pan will be served on open fire.

    Mevlana Pide
long wheat bread from stone oven filled with cheese, tomato and little pieces of grilled lamb

    Mixed grill
if you can´t decide what you want, try this. A little from everything with much salad and rice.

    Ayran
You absolutely have to try this yoghurt drink!
