Alanya is shoppers paradise. In every corner you will find a shop with designer bags, designers clothes, designer towels and designer shoes (copy of course).
In shops that don't have fix prices you have to haggle or you will pay overprice.
If you buy a couple of things from the same store you can haggle down the price with about 50%. If you buy only one thing you can get the price down about 30%.
This is some guidelines that worked for me, but of course if you can haggle good you can get the price over 50%.

You must always bargain in Alanya if you dont want to be cheeted. Dont trust the friendly behaviour of the salaesmen. You can find the same quality in every shop. before buying ask the price in various shops and buy the reasonable one. I bought esterday a blue shirt that I loved. although I am a Turk at first the price was 15, then 10 and I bought it at 5 TL.
There are 4 different prices here in Alanya
1- price for locals, 2- price for Turks located in Alanya such as me, 3- price for tourist Turks, 4- poor foreigners
Happy buyings.

The bazaar, full of colours, and the happy night-life made Alanya very popular with local and European tourists. Alanya is great to shop and you'll find prices that are relatively low. Explore the old town and go Eastside in the streets along the beach.
Get your leather goods, shoes, bags, clothes, spices, tea, gold and silver (one street even is named "Gold Street"). Here is "haggling" a must, thought don't play with the guys! Too many tourist got to be stuck by their ridiculous bids (it's not Indonesia).
What to buy: A beautiful Turkish carpet!
When want to buy a "Kilim" (Turkish carpet) get some good info about! The colourful and beautiful carpets has been known for over 3.000 years and differ from other oriental carpets (for its double knots). A pity we haven't took the time to go for a good deal ...
Visit as many as possible shops before you make a deal ...
What to pay: Buying a Gucci/Coco Chanel t-shirt, a Louis Vuiton purse and Versace shawl the prices are indeed ridiculous, so donot go higher as 1 Euro per item when buying a lot ...

Address: Bazaar shops Alanya, Turkey
Unfortunately so many trips that haven't saved all receipts (who could); cannot remember. A normal, narrow, not very big shop. Reliable. No pirates.
We especially asked the staff for Tarkan's music and he knew immediately what to recommend and we haven't regretted.
What to buy: Turkish music: Tarkan's Turkish pop music (was top famous in Turkey and perhaps elsewhere too at least still in 2004). He has new recordings and is touring this year around Europe, but check also the older recordings; they were beach hits and played in Turkish holiday resort restaurants and they were nicely rhytmic. Look for at least a record named "The Ultimate Collection" (2003), that was perhaps the most popular.
Also buy bellydancing music (available also in DVD with dancing), traditional older Turkish music. A good idea to organize a theme dinner for your friends "Turkish night", put on something Turkish, if nothing else then a hat of some sort. They sell also belly dancer's clothes (what clothes...).
Cook something Turkish and put the Turkish music on...perhaps you dare to buy a (smaller than in the restaurants) waterpipe too.
Clothes, underwear.
What to pay: Difficult to say, like everyone knows these things depend on the budget, on what people buy (we are so different everyone). ¨
Not an expensive country (unless you want to buy fashion stuff like anywhere else). Please note that some salesmen, even shops, sell pirate clothes even if they claim else.
