Don't buy English cigarettes
We decided to but some "under the counter" English cigarettes whilst in the centre of Alanya for the family. It was only when we got back that we found the Super Kings were unsmokeable. They were all stained brown and tasted awful. The packets were all sealed and looked genuine. Please be warned, the Turkish cigarettes we bought were fine.
Unique Suggestions: We had bought a couple of packs earlier from a shop facing the beach and these were fine. If you do buy some open them in the shop before you leave, just in case.
Fun Alternatives: We are rather fussy about what we smoke, we tried the Turkish 2001 cigarettes (about 80p a packet) and they were OK. Give them a try.
For around 15 € they offer a tour to a hamam. If the destination in the Hamam Konackli, I can not recommend it.
The relaxation states, as experience rather resembled a mass release, which then in considering this was the funniest on the whole.
The oriental soap was quickly over, and in a small middle room.
The establishment needed a thorough renovation, and the sauna, oh no.
Unfortunately, I had no more time, one of the many other Hamams reside on their own. For tips but since I'm very grateful.

dont ride on camels!
If you see a man walking a camel down the road, don't shout "OOOHH look kids it's a camel". This is what I did and had torist written on my head.
Before we knew it the kids had been bundled on the back of this camel, and gone for walkies for about 20 yards. Whilst they were gone i thought it would be nice to tip the man for his kindness and collected a couple of lira out of my purse. When they returned the man wanted to take some photos of us standing with camel on my sons phone. After this he then demanded 40 lira!
After a lot of debating he had to settle for 10 lira as this was all I had left.
Unique Suggestions: Dont look in his direction if you see any of these men. Insist your not interested and push your kids past quickly!
Fun Alternatives: Pretend you have no more than a certain amount they have no choice but to accept it.
End of a amusing night n a nightclub, you can see too much cost. And you can't protest.
Fun Alternatives: When u order a drink, ask it's price and take note the price. When u get total cost, match them. So nobody can cheat u.

In Holland we know "overboekingen", meaning you have managed to book a trip, included hotel and, arrived the booking went wrong, so you have to change the hotel-accomodation (maybe of double booking). Thousand of people have experienced this horror and, for short the company of ANVR is taking care of this sort of problems. Such bookings do happen a lot with events, at high season-times, or with bad travel-agencies to Turkey (like our friends) ...
Unique Suggestions: The hotel-keeper of the hotel you booked should offer another accomodation of the same value... If not you've got a problem. And you cannot do anything about it! Just accept and still try to enjoy your holiday ... even the view is a damaged villa ... *lol*
Fun Alternatives: There is no alternative, besides paying a lot of more money for a better accomodation. When correct in this you could complain afterwards at home with your travel-agency. Sometimes that will do ... mostly not ! Sorry ...

If you’re on a package holiday, your rep will offer you some pretty decent deals. One I would not recommend is the Alanya Tour. You spend the morning exploring 3 seriously overpriced shops (Gold, Leather & Textiles) – 45 minutes in each shop, get 15 minutes at a great viewpoint, have a basic lunch, rush around a cave for 20 minutes (‘cause everyones waiting for you by now), and then spend the afternoon lazing around on a boat. Not too bad, you might say? That’s what I thought before the trip! The shops are honestly a bit of a waste of time, unless you specifically want to buy something.
Unique Suggestions: Just be prepared to be slightly hassled by sales staff, especially in the leather shop! Also, we did the tour as part of a larger package deal, so to be honest, the tour itself was quite cheap.
Fun Alternatives: Rather just go for the boat trip by itself. Much more fun, a great way of spending the afternoon, and it’s much more enjoyable wandering the markets and streets in your own time.

Golden Fingers Hamam Alanya Turkey, Buyuk Otel
We visited the Hamam at Ataturk Street Alanya.
We were promissed massage for next 4 days and a free hamam the day we visited the bath.
The second day we noticed that one of our lockers where we kept bags, money and other belonging during the massage was difficuty to open.
Next day the other locker room where open when we came back from massage.
I am 100 % sure it was locked when i left it and i noticed that my belongings was put in another order than i put it into.
There was not much guest there so i am sure that other customers did not do this.
We dont know if money was stolen because we had not counted our money before entering the hamam.
Last day (4.) of the massage they ment we had not any massages left and i had to get angry to get them to admit that the first hamam visit was for free and that we had 4 lessons of massage after hamam.
The guy who sold us this treatment promissed that it wold last for 1 year, we are sure it do not.
He told he was a doctor and worked with transplanting of faces. (lol)
They also recommended their fish spa at the entrance.
Unique Suggestions: Dont visit this place, very expensive and they will try to rob you.
