Favorite thing: From the old harbour in Kaleci, Antalya, you can take a boattrip for the day or evening. After spending weeks travelling without beeing neer the sea it was very nice to spend a day on a boat, relaxing, eating and swimming.
I paid 20 000 000 TL for a 6 hour boattrip (in 2003). Lunch (fish, spagetti, sallad and bread) was included in the price.
It can be a good idea to compare a few boats and prices. If you are walking around in the harbour in the evening you can't miss all the people wanting to sign you up for their trip the next day.

Favorite thing: This small waterfall is coming down the cliff just beside the harbour and many of the tour boats take an extra turn so the tourists can watch it. This small waterfall is a nice sight, but it is artificial.
If you want to see more magnificent waterfalls there are several outside Antalya: Duden waterfalls are about 10 km to the north, Kunsunlu waterfalls about 20 km to the east and Manvagat close to Side.

Favorite thing: To sit by the sea at sunset is lovely! In Antalya there is a nice view from Karaalioglu Parki and from the pier in the harbour. It is very peaceful to sit on the pier and watch the last boats come in and the change of colour on the sky, and maybe with some nuts to eat.

Favorite thing: The cultural and conference centre is a wonderful place to wander in. Even when there are no events, the whole venue is interesting.
The main conference hall is a large blue glass pyramid.
There are two smaller pyramids in the grounds, and the use of water is inspired. Water trickles down a pyramid, down channels and into a lake . There is even a waterfall which you can walk under.
In the heat of the day the water gives a sense of refreshment.
There are also many different plants to see and paths to follow.
Fondest memory: My fondest memory was the evening we spent at a concert at Aspendos. Some of the dancers seemed to be gliding around as if on skates.

Favorite thing: While you are in Antalya, you will be surprised to see such a developing city. Every year I see new modern buildings and the city is growing toits outside limits..
However in the city center, inside the fortress you will see quiet amazing old Turkish houses.. Stay some while and enjoy the beauty of them.. Almost all of them are being renovated, but there are still some carrying the signs of history on their walls.

Favorite thing: The city of antalya strecthes along the Antalya bay and is built at 39 meters height, rocky coastline.. The city lies on a valley which is surrounded by 3000 meters high Taurus mountains. and the surrounding mountains gives a fascinating landscape to the city.. The old city with old Turkish houses, the marina are the nice spots of the city..
However the best attractions is the seaside.. Inside Antalya, there are two famous beaches, Lara beach and Konyaalti beach.. and also Antalya is in very short distance to many favourite holiday destinations and holiday villages..

Favorite thing: Entrance to the old city has a fantastic gate.. An arch way is leading you to the past . The old city has been tried to be preserved as original as possible..
The big marble gate, behind, you have the new Antalya with modern buildings and all aspects of a big city but in front of you there are new things to be explored.. The historical houses of Antalya
