In 2010 everybody in Europe stop buying as the crisis have hit all the rich countries on the old continent.
Turkey (especially Antalya) was one of the special exceptions.
It was a kind of "shopping rush" when we have been there, but something I have never seen before.
They were buying everything with an un-explicable excitement.
The locals were trying clothes between the shelves as all the cabins were full and they had anyway to wait long minutes in queues to pay for the chosen ones. It was actually a kind of fight to spend money... so difficult to explain and understand it.
The show itself was an amazing one and I have spent minutes looking at that crowd and admiring its movement, their gestures and the general "hum".

Opened in 2001,Migros Mall of Antalya is situated in the western part of the city above the Konyaalti Beach Park.
In the 3-storey mall has more than 100 shops,and offers a variety of good ranging from international brands such as Tommy Hilfinger,Lacoste,Levi's,Zara,Mango,Guess,Diesel,etc.
There are also well known cafes,fastfood/takeaway restaurants for refreshment..and plus 8 cinemas..
What to buy: Antiques, Books, Food and Drink, Home Furnishing,Women's- Men's Clothes, Sporting Goods,Art, Computers and Electronics, Local Craft, Gifts, Jewelry, Music, Stationery,Bath and Beauty, Department Store, Flowers, Hobbies, Children's Clothes, Shoes, Toys and Games..

oldest "core" shopping center of the city Antalya,all kinds of jewellery, gold handicrafts, silver, ready-to-wear leather produce, hand-woven Turkish carpets, international textile trademarks and all kinds of souvenirs are on sale in this area.
What to buy: authentic local products,all kinds of jewellery,international textile trademarks imitations,etc..
What to pay: first,check the prices and later..bargain..bargain..bargain.. it is the motto:o)

Bazaars are sort of like a cross between a street market and a shopping centre as they are in a building of sorts and grouped together but with elements of markets
the shops we went to was near our resort (the BArut Lara hotel) there was a few bazaars grouped together
the guys there were nice but pushy, wanting you to go into their shop to look
i dont think i need to say this but -- the 'designer' stuff they are selling is obviously fake. of course you cant buy a real D&G bag, Lacoste top or Prada shoes for 10 lira (3 pounds-ish)
one guy did freely admit this, telling my dad that he was selling 'genuine fakes' which we all had a good laugh about
What to buy: the bazaars dont really sell food, they are more clothes, shoes, bags, watches and souveneirs
What to pay: they are all pretty cheap as they are fakes and mass-produced souvenirs

We heard off our holiday rep about a great market that is on on Saturdays in Antalya called Laura market. we got a taxi there but ended up at a medium sized shopping centre called Laura market, not an actual market.
in turkey they call shopping centres markets, and what we would call a market a 'pazash'
luckily we found the market, it was across the road from the shopping centre
it is very hot in the market and the market is quite big, it spreads across many streets
as it is so busy you dont really get targeted by pushy shop=keepers unless you linger at their stall
they are all very nice there, not too pushy -- but be warned, as it is a quite local market there were quite a few people who couldnt speak english
What to buy: What you can buy:
- Food! Lots and lots of food - fruit, veg, nuts etc....
- Perfume - there were a few dodgy perfume stalls
- Scarves / shawls - we got one for my mum for 7 lira
- t-shirts - my sister got one saying Antalya for 5 lira
- local crafts (wooden boxes, little trinkets)
- lots of fake designer clothes
- traditional style turkish stuff like bellydancing belts
What to pay: my dad tried to haggle but the poor guy he was trying with could barely speak a word of english and it was cheap anyway so not much point

Here are the some meaning of Anatolian carpets or kilims..
Birds on the tree of life symbolize life and soul.Dragon is the animal guarding the tree motifs together stand for continuity of the soul and immortality.The star is used to indicate the eternity of the tree of life.Chest symbolizes the trousseau chest and marriage,stars stand for happiness and eternity.The bird motif on the rug is used to protect the expectation of happiness against evil eye.
Elibelinde(hands on hips) used on the inner border as well as the head band,symbolize fertility.Crosses are used as a protection against evil eye.

Anatolian carpet-weaving is very special type of handcraft with roots are deeply embedded in the past and every knot the bearer of a long tradition.The type of carpet consisting of threads stretched lenghtwise on the loom to form what is known as the warp and threads threaded through these from side to side to form a weft that will tighten the weave and form the basis of the knots that will constitute the pile and various decorative motifs,is found in Turkish history as early as the 5th-3rd centuries B.C.
One of the places in Anatolia where this intimate relationship between the Turks and the carpet is still in evidence is the country town of Dosemealti in the province of Antalya.
The first carpets are surrounded by narrow borders containing geometrical or plant motifs.In Turkish carpets the borders are of great importance in so far as their characteristic features serve to indicate the region in which they are woven.
Turkish carpets are categorized as taban,kelle,cift,somya,minder,namazlik,yastik,heybe,etc.
All are natural dyes
What to buy: carpets and kilim.. belongs to various province of Anatolia..Taspinar,Dosemealti,Hereke,Ladik,Yagcibedir are the most famous carpets in Turkey
What to pay: It depends to size and quality&numbers of knots.Starting from 50$ to 750-1000$ per sqm.

The shop we visited sold carpets and coins and old doors, among other things. (See the warning below.)
We sat down and were offered drinks, had a good talk with them- it was nice- and then began negotiations over the door. Overall at the store it was a very pleasant experience. They even through in an old fez.

What to buy: Doors are interesting to look at, though difficult to ship. We decided to buy a door. It was fairly old, and I forget the whole backstory, but an interesting buy. Many places sell carpets and the other stuff, but the doors, if they're real (old) can be much more interesting hung on a wall.
Warning:
Be careful, however, as they don't know how to pack the doors. I described to the seller how I wanted the door packed, with a wide, strong crate, cross-braced and so on... what we got was a torque-able mess, whose slight padding was right up against the door itself and which had no space between the outer slats and the padding- so everything was just asking for problems... and, of course, the door had torqued. We had to have it fixed by a restoration company, and I can't recommend buying from these guys, unless you can see the crate built. If I could go back to that place, I would exact the money it cost to have it fixed due to their incompetence, especially since the blow-off when we talked to them about it and sent them photos of the damages.
They aren't bad people and they do have good stuff, it's just that they don't know the first thing about packing. They just don't think I'll be back.
