From Anamur to Antalya
  • Tip Rating:
  • I went to the otogar in Anamur the day before my departure to buy a ticket to Antalya. I wanted to buy one from Metro as I had seen they had a service from Iskele, but they did not have any tickets left. Instead I bought a ticket with Zafer – Anamur. They did not have a service to the otogar so in the morning I went out to the road to wait for the dolmush. The dolmush (minibus) is only 500 000 TL and the end stop is just behind the otogar. The bus ride between Anamur and Antalya takes about 5 hours and the first hours of this bus ride can for many be a pain. I didn’t have any problems but it is not a road for people who easily get travel sickness. Several people in the bus asked for small black plastic bags to throw up in. The road from Anamur towards Alanya is winding along the mountain slopes by the coast. From Alanya on to Antalya it is a big straight road.

Arriving at the otogar in Antalya I asked for a service bus and luckily there was one. The service took me to Kaleici and dropped me close to Saat Kulesi (Clock Tower).

The bus ticket was 18 000 000 TL.

    From Antalya to Datca
  • Tip Rating:
  • I went to a couple of bus companies before I found one selling tickets to Marmaris (didn’t think it was going to be so hard). I was looking for Pamukkale bus company for a long time and went streets up and down, nobody seemed to know the exactly where it was. Finally I found the office a couple of blocks north of Cumhuriyet Caddesi. From the office there was a service bus in the morning.

The bus ride to Marmaris took about 6 hours. In Marmaris I waited half an hour for the dolmush to Datca. The ticket could be bought in a ticket office at the otogar (bus station). The dolmush to Datca took 1 hour 45 minutes. Arriving in Datca I had no clue where to get off the bus. I asked for Tunc Pansiyon and the bus stopped just by the street leading to the pension.

The ticket Antalya – Marmaris was 23 000 000 TL and the ticket
    Marmaris Datca was 7 000 000 TL.

    Taxis At Antalya
  • Tip Rating:
  • Taxis in Antalya are known to be the most expensive taxis of the Whole Turkey.. Their rates may be compared with the rates of New York... So if it is not a must, I wond advice to take a taxi, and if you are in need go ahead for a bargain..

The main possibility to take a taxi is from the airport..The cost to travel to the city center is between 15-30 USD. But you shall ask before you get on a taxi..

If you are going to travel to the surrounding towns of Antalya, like kemer... Taking a direct taxi to kemer will cost you more, instead you can take a taxi to city center and take another one from the city center.. But dont forget to negotiate the prices..

    Antalya Airport
  • Tip Rating:
  • Just 20 km from the city center Antalya airport Hosts around 2 million passenger each year. The summer traffic is enormous and the new international terminal is on operation to cover the demand..

The airport has seperate International and Domestic terminals.. The first terminal is the domestic one..

There is a bank, an ATM machine inside the terminal. Also a Post office and telephone boots.. As the exchange rates at the airport are lower, I would suggest you to change your currencies at the city center..

Many tour operating companies are arranging a pick up service from the airport but if you happen to be there without a service. You have two alternatives to reach the city center..

Taxis are operating at the airport and they have a fix price to the city center and also to some other near towns or districts..

Havas have bus shutlle services to the city center. The buses are operating according to the THY arrival hours... the buses will carry you to the THY terminal office at the city Center..
