Best beaches around Antalya

The best beach IMO is about 1 hour away ( by car / 1.5-2 hrs by bus / depending on the bus )southwest from Antalya...Cirali...It boasts a beautiful secluded 4 km beach, the ruins of Olympos, the flames of the Chimeara, as well as it is a protected area by the WWF for the nesting of the Caretta sea turtles.Even the beach at Cirali is not 100 % sand..but a mixture of both fine sand and small pebbles...but it is not one of those places catering to package tour holidays as it is more so a real rural village that caters to not only Europeans, North Americans as well as turkish families.The only true sandy beach is Patara...In distances...Cirali is 1 hour by car from Antalya..Kas is 2 hrs ..therefore Patara which is father I would guess at 2.5 - 3hrs by car..also another nice beach between Kas and Kalkan is Kaplutas..however it is a long walk down many flights of stairs to get there...Have a...

Antalya is even more romantic than Aegean and the islands between Turkey and Greece.It is protected by the 3000 meter high Taurus mountains from the cold of northern winds.It has a soft climate between October and June and you can enjoy warm temperatures around 20 s and even swim in winter .The mountains enriched by huge pine forests and sandy long beaches are definitely the best in the whole Med region.Most beaches have white flags indicating the ideal cleanliness of waters.And if you are really into history ,it is one of the richest parts of ancient Mediterranean civilisations.Not to mention the glamourous night life.Maybe a bit more silent than Bodrum,but it's good enough ,believe me..
