The Sultan Garden Restaurant is situated overlooking the harbour. It was fairly quiet the evening that we ate there, but the food and service were good.

There is this large garden with many big trees called Kas Spor Cay Bahcesi located near the marina and along the small plaza in Necip bey Street. It's a relief to just sit there, enjoy a tea or coffee after getting tired of walking along the Uzun Carsi.
Delicious big round toast and a cup of coffee costs only TL8. There are several broken lycian sarcophagi on one side of the garden.

What's with tourists and ice cream? There's always a connection, it's always the ice cream that spots a tourist. With the warm weather of Kas, Dondurma (ice cream) is a delicious relief.
Ribght beside the Limon Cafe and at the side of the entrance of Kas Spor Cay Bahcesi is an ice cream parlour called Kahramanmaras Dondurmasi. Dondurma is a local ice cream -- chewy and yumminess. Different flabor, various colors, the 2 guys at the ice cream parlour are friendly.
Buy a scoop or 2 with some waffles and go or sit at one of the shaded tables and chairs inside the bahcesi or garden.
Favorite Dish: what else? dondurma of course

A small place with couples of tables and chairs under big red umbrellas beside the Kas Spor Cay Bahcesi is the very tourist- friendly cafe serving coffee, tea, fresh juices, local toats, doner and other sandwiches.
The people working there (owners maybe) are very cheerful, helpful and it's like they're happy that you came to Kas and they're glad to serve you too - that's how I perceived it.
I ate sandwiches there twice, at first I was a little surprised because the lady there went to my side where there's a small plant and she started picking the leaves from that plant. In a couple of minutes I was already eating those leaves on my sandwich -- mint leaves fresh from the small pot on the garden, nice touch ha!
And very cheap, toasts cost i think only 2 - 4 TL
Favorite Dish: Sandwiches, toasts, burger

Situated right at the corner of Ataturk Blvd and Necip Bey Street, infront of the Suleyman Mosque in the town center is a local restaurant slash tourists' favorite. I saw several tourists eating there so I did tried. Simple food, inexpensive, doner sandwiches, kebab, and the usual lokanti meals.
Normal meals costs about TL10-12. Not bad for quick bites.

On Kas' main square you will find an assortment of small, open-air cafes. Noel Baba Cafe was the busiest on the afternoon I needed a light lunch, so I opted to sit at one of their tables and have a treat. I was surprised by the number of cats that wandered around the restaurant, but they mostly left me alone so it wasn't a big deal. I just wanted something small, so I ordered a banana-chocolate crepe and a fruit smoothie. As you can see from the photo, I ended up with a huge, sweet treat... a pleasant surprise! The fruit smoothie was great too. If you're looking for sweet treats, light snacks or fresh fruit beverages, Noel Baba is a good choice in central Kas.

If you happen to take a trip to Saklikent Gorge, make sure you plan to have lunch or dinner at one of the floating restaurants on-site. Here, platforms float on a small stream and are comfortably decked with soft cushions surrounding a large central table. It is customary to remove your shoes before stepping onto the platform. As part of our Xanthos Tour we were offered lunch, which included a hot- and cold-meze buffet, as well as a hot entree. As a vegetarian I was worried that I would go hungry when the hot dishes came, but the staff were actually very nice and made me a fresh vegetable pastry. It was lovely to relax by the water, watch beautiful butterflies fly by, and enjoy lunch. It's true that you will find many tourists eating at these floating restaurants, but they are mostly Turkish tourists!

After a day spent sailing the crystal-clear seas around Kas, my new friends and I needed to eat dinner. One girl used her local connections to get a recommendation, and this led us to Bi Lokma. The restaurant's name translates to Mama's Kitchen, and what you'll find inside is authentic, homestyle Turkish cooking, just like mama would make. The restaurant was absolutely packed but service was still polite. My friends and I shared a few mixed meze, including vegetable "fritters", yogurt-pursulane dip and carrot salad (the latter was probably the best single meze I ate in Turkey). I followed it up with some manti- also known as Turkish ravioli. These are dense, rich balls of pasta topped with a tart yogurt sauce. As you can see from the photo it's a big serving and it would have been perfect to share. We washed down all our food with some good white wine... and then headed into town for more! I would highly recommend a meal at Bi Lokma while you're in Kas.

I think the story of how we heard about Deli Kofte reveals its culinary importance to civilization. We were in a Hotel thousands of miles away from Kas (where Deli Kofte is), and a group of travellers were gathered around a table playing "if I could be anywhere in the world where would I be." Two travellers nominated Kas, for the sole reason that they would be able to eat at Delhi Kofte.
After hearing this story we added Kas and Deli Kofte to our itinerary, with the expectation that we would have a meal there, well you can guess what happened, we stayed for three nights and every dinner was at Delhi Kofte, and now as I type this I am coating my keyboard in dribble.
As for the menu itself there are two options: Kofte or Fish. We can only speak for the Kofte and we cannot speak highly enough of it. Lets just say we like everything just the way it is, so we are very reluctant to put this advice on the net, as we fear that it might change the cute small venue or at least the very small price (only 7.50 - about USD 5).
The restaurant is only 3 months old, and is tiny, it is the dream of a young husband and wife team.
Favorite Dish: The Kofte here is our absolute pick out of all of Turkey. Which is saying something as we have been touring Turkey for 2 months and have had a few koftes, none of which drove us to post-consumption dribble.

The Akropol is unusual in Turkey in our experience in that it serves mainly Austrian food. The owners are an Austrian/Turkish man and his Austrian wife. It is situated on a high point with magnificent views about a quarter of an hours walk from the Deniz Feneri Lighthouse where we were staying.
We had intended going there for an evening meal on the Thursday that we were there, but that turned out to be their evening off! However, we did enjoy a light lunch there the following day.
