    Limon Cafe: Another quick bite

    by June.b Written Jul 16, 2011

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

A small place with couples of tables and chairs under big red umbrellas beside the Kas Spor Cay Bahcesi is the very tourist- friendly cafe serving coffee, tea, fresh juices, local toats, doner and other sandwiches.

The people working there (owners maybe) are very cheerful, helpful and it's like they're happy that you came to Kas and they're glad to serve you too - that's how I perceived it.

I ate sandwiches there twice, at first I was a little surprised because the lady there went to my side where there's a small plant and she started picking the leaves from that plant. In a couple of minutes I was already eating those leaves on my sandwich -- mint leaves fresh from the small pot on the garden, nice touch ha!

And very cheap, toasts cost i think only 2 - 4 TL

    Favorite Dish: Sandwiches, toasts, burger

Kahramanmaras Dondurmasi: Yummy local ice cream waffle

    by June.b Written Jul 16, 2011

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

What's with tourists and ice cream? There's always a connection, it's always the ice cream that spots a tourist. With the warm weather of Kas, Dondurma (ice cream) is a delicious relief.

Ribght beside the Limon Cafe and at the side of the entrance of Kas Spor Cay Bahcesi is an ice cream parlour called Kahramanmaras Dondurmasi. Dondurma is a local ice cream -- chewy and yumminess. Different flabor, various colors, the 2 guys at the ice cream parlour are friendly.

Buy a scoop or 2 with some waffles and go or sit at one of the shaded tables and chairs inside the bahcesi or garden.

Favorite Dish: what else? dondurma of course

    Ikbal Restaurant

Ikbal, which is owned by a Turkish/German couple was very definitely our favourite restaurant in Kas. The service was faultless and the food was superb, including their very tasty starters. Meals are taken on a very pleasant terrace above a quiet road.

We will definitely be heading there again next time we are in Kas.

    Akropol Restaurant

by peterdhduncan Updated Jan 10, 2010

    2 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The Akropol is unusual in Turkey in our experience in that it serves mainly Austrian food. The owners are an Austrian/Turkish man and his Austrian wife. It is situated on a high point with magnificent views about a quarter of an hours walk from the Deniz Feneri Lighthouse where we were staying.

We had intended going there for an evening meal on the Thursday that we were there, but that turned out to be their evening off! However, we did enjoy a light lunch there the following day.

Kas Spor Cay Bahcesi: Toasts and coffee under the trees

    by June.b Written Jul 16, 2011

There is this large garden with many big trees called Kas Spor Cay Bahcesi located near the marina and along the small plaza in Necip bey Street. It's a relief to just sit there, enjoy a tea or coffee after getting tired of walking along the Uzun Carsi.

Delicious big round toast and a cup of coffee costs only TL8. There are several broken lycian sarcophagi on one side of the garden.
